I had heard rumblings that these (or at least reg. Quad) might make their way south to Denver. Does anyone know if this is true? Bottles? Kegs only? I would love to buy some locally.

I was at the tap room a couple weekends ago and was blow away by the regular Quad. I can't imagine how great a bourbon barrel aged version of that would taste.

If I read their Facebook post properly, this Bourbon Barrel Quad is going to be available to all their regular accounts. I am assuming it will be their winter seasonal, replacing Dark Prophet.

Maybe it was just an off day for me when I tried it, but I wasn't a fan of the regular quad. Tempted though to try this one.

Good to know. Just grabbed a bottle of it and a couple bottles of the peach whiskey barrel aged tropic king. Looking forward to trying them both.

    Whaaaat?

Were those at the brewery or in distro?

I grabbed them at the brewery.

Haven't been to any stores lately to know if they hit distro, but SFACRKnight posted in the "What Beer You Drinking" thread that he grabbed a bottle of it earlier today. He's down South, so I am guessing he found in on the shelves near him. So I am guessing it did get some distro.....but don't quote me on that.

Bottle acquired! Thanks for the heads up. Argonaut had a couple bottles left when I went in around dinnertime.

I had it on Saturday at Funkwerks. Not sure of the rating but I thought it was awesome.

I was rather underwhelmed on tap. Tasty, but not a lot of peach or whiskey. Had it next to the regular tropic king and they tasted almost identical. Love the regular though so it wasn't a bad thing!

I was underwhelmed by their oude bruin and it was a gusher

Interesting...just cracked my bottle open and I am getting a nice dose of the peach whiskey bottles. I dig it.

I really enjoyed the Oude Bruin.

The one I did not care for at all is the Bourbon Barrel Quad. Not bad enough to be a drainpour, but it was a chore to finish that bottle over 2 nights.

Thought the Peach Whiskey was pretty good, not much barrel (on tap) but liked it a little better than the regular. BBQ was great imo (bottle). Echoes was terrible though, one of the only beers I haven't finished at a bar/brewery. Bartender was very cool though and didn't charge me for it, even though I didn't request it be free.

That Echoes was very disappointing. I didn't find it offensive or anything, and if provided to me for free would drink again, but I definitely wouldn't buy it again. And if the bartended had offered to take it back from me and not charge, I would have jumped at that.

Yea, I had about half of a half pour before I returned it. I told her to charge me for it after she hinted it was on the house, as I could've just asked for a taste of it, but was told I'd have to fight her if I wanted to pay. She had a lovely face, so I just took the free beer :grinning:
EDIT: I was obviously afraid to scrap, if that wasn't clear. In my defense she had nails and a ring that was eye gouge worthy...

I just opened the BBQ tonight...I'm absolutely loving this beer. Runs circles around Boulevards IMO. I'm really a big fan...delicious.

I did enjoy the BBQ from Funk and happy to have a bottle in the cellar. I don't think it is as good as Boulevard, but still world class.

I feel like the odd man out. I found the fw bbq to be a one note beer. I was let down really, almost everything else I have from them is well done.
