Funky Buddah coming to Philly

    Just announced on their Twitter page they sent up some beers to Philly. Not sure where they'll end up. Stay tuned folks

    Every time I hear about another brewery sending its beer to Philly, I can't help but picture a Texas oil tycoon kicking his feet up on his desk, puffing a maduro, and letting out a hearty guffaw.

    Had a few of their beers on tap at the Hulmeville in during PBW. They were all pretty delicious.

    Yeah their beers are all pretty awesome. I worry the events will be monstrously crowded and basically impossible, but maybe I'll be wrong.

    You won't be. If anyone so much as lets out a peep about an event, and it ever sees the light of a computer monitor...shit show. I suppose you never really know but...the word's out and everyone had their ear to the ground. It'll be tough to enjoy FB in peace in this area.

    clearly you missed the monk's "event." :grimacing:

    i hope whoever gets kegs just announces it on twitter like 5 minutes after they tap the keg on a random wednesday.

    Nope I was there. Also caught the tail end of the event at Prohibition. Just trying to be hopeful.

    Honestly, if / when Bella Vista does a berliner event, I hope they sell tickets or something. I'd rather have a chance to miss out if it means I can enjoy them in a relative peace rather than spend an hour wanting to murder everyone around me.

    There were actually a couple of funky buddha events that were out in the sticks, or took place at unusual locations that I would have liked to attend during PBW. The problem is that they generally took place during the week, and there isn't any way I could make any of those events, driving up from Baltimore. So I ended up going to things like the FB event at Capone's, which was great, but also on the weekend, and so a madhouse. I suspect a lot of folks coming from out of town were in the same boat (which likely explains some of the huge crowds on the weekend).

    Yeah but that was during Philly Beer Week with a ton of other things to do. This is going to be the only event or close to it whenever it happens. Going to be crazy.

    According to Bella Vista's twitter the beer made it from Florida to Philly. Just waiting on FB to announce the list of beers that were on the truck

    Beers have arrived in Philly: Hop Gun, Floridian, Maple Bacon, Last Snow, Bonita Applebum, Blueberry Cobbler, Passion & Pineapple Berliners!

    Did FB increase their production? I had heard that expansion was still in the planning stage, so I'm surprised they have enough beer to ship up to SEPA. I was under the impression that they weren't even able to supply their local market, which is why I'm curious.

    Love their beer and am happy to be able to get it (despite the hassles), but I'm just very surprised that any more is/was getting shipped up to SEPA. For some reason, I had thought that the PBW supply of FB beer was a one time thing.
