Maybe I missed it but did Matt provide a listing of any of the beers that will be on tap for any of the Philly Beer Week events. Anyone know which of the Funky Buddha beers will be on tap at Capones on Sat for this event.

Typically, Matt will send out an email listing the beers on offer for upcoming events. I haven't seen anything yet, though I would expect to see something this week at some point.

As for Funky Buddha, I can't be certain, but my guess is that the following are a good bet:

    Funky Buddha:
    MAPLE BACON COFFEE PORTER
    NO CRUSTS
    BONITA APPLEBUM
    LAST SNOW COFFEE PORTER
    DAYWALKER GINGER IPA
    PINA COLADA
    RASPBERRY BERLINER WEISSE

That's the line-up for the pre-savor FB event at Churchkey, which just so happens to coincide with Philly Beer Week events. From past experience, most of the same beers show for these two separate events.

That would be fine with me for sure, but the lineup for Funky Buddha at another place in Philly is basically every berlinner than they make and just one other beer - something-nibs from what I recall.

The event you are referring to is at monks on June 3rd.

We'll be pouring Key Lime Berliner, Peach Berliner, Passion Fruit Berliner, Mango Berliner, and maybe his Cranberry Berliner. So we'll have at least four of these fresh-fruit-infused beers (maybe 5 if we're lucky) and his Nib Smuggler Chocolate Porter.

My guess would be Capones sees a very similar list...

that list is horrible, everyone should just go to the monk's event instead *whistles and walks away*

I don't think we'll see the Maple Bacon. Someone please tell me i'm wrong.

Thanks for the info. Note to Buddha, please bring some swag with you if you can manage it! Would love to pick up a glass or something.

I believe the actual beers that we will be pouring at Monk's are Key Lime, Passion Fruit, Peach, Pineapple and Raspberry Berliners (or maybe 4 of those) and Nib Smuggler. Other events will probably only have one berliner at the most. We did send one or two maple bacon coffee porters to Philly, but I'm not entirely sure where they will show up. Looking forward to the events!

Yes, I agree. Who wants to go to the suburbs anyway?

Plus everyone knows that Matt is a complete jerk. Can't imagine why anyone in their right mind would go to the event at Capone's instead of the one over at Monk's.

(Note: Just in case someone doesn't get the humor, I don't really think Matt is a jerk.).

:-) I thought about leaving it without the disclaimer, but I've been on BA for a long time now, and have seen way to many "innocent" attempts at humor turn into a fire fight.

Ahem... it occurs to me that you might have some experience with what I'm referring to. :-)

Well, I wil cross my fingers that the maple bacon shows up at Capones. Welcome to Philly, thanks for coming up. Can't wait to finally get a chance to try some of these beers. Philly likes beer, we hope you like Philly and consider sending some our way on a more regular basis.

I saw that they will be at a Brunch at Woody's on Sunday so I was psyched to go... Then I checked out Woody's website. Umm...... is this a strange place to have a brunch for Funky Buddha and Cigar city?

I saw that Hulmeville Inn will have maple bacon coffee porter, but that's a bit out of the way in the suburbs. Does anyone know of any events in the city that will have this elusive beer?

Stopped at Hulmeville on the way to a philly's red sox game last weekend and what a great bar. Wish I was down in Philly for beer week, so jealous.

Yes it's odd but their beer program is apparently run by the owners of The Institute. Not sure how that came to be but that's why you're seeing events there now.

Their beer doesn't get out of Boca except for Festivals and IS member bottles which they've pretty much stopped doing due to demand issues. They don't even fill growlers of their flagships anymore. This is a bar that brews in their stock room in the back which not everyone seems to know...its a tiny operation but they're looking to open a brewery.
