Traded for a few bottles of funky buddha stuff in the past month, as I opened the box, I thought "dam, this last snow has way less beer than my previous bottle."

It's probably only a few oz difference but I've never seen such a large difference in the fill line with the same beers before. Usually beers are filled above the curve in the bottle.

Anyone see a beer filled this low before? Or is it pretty common?

Ive never seen one that low for a bomber...Ive seen Kuhnhenn low fill their bottles before but usually just to the bottom of the neck
I don't think its foul play...just what happens sometimes

I've never had that beer before, but I've had the same situation happen to me before when I bought a 4.20 Enjoy By. I just brought it back to my local spot and the owner gave me another one.

Fills that low I have seen but were held back for brewery employees, friends or used as sample bottles etc. Got one bottle half filled in a trade due to leaking bottle.

Nope. Never seen one that low but I love Last Snow enough I would still be happy with that amount.

I've seen them low like right below the curve but never like the one you have. I personally believe they should have moved it to 12oz bottles considering how large the batch was but hey... Bombers!!!! Right???

I've seen this with FFF bombers quite a few times.

Appears to be a QC issue. I'd take this up with the brewery, honestly.

Yep, there is inspection equipment that can be used that automatically reject low fill, missing label and cocked caps. Smaller breweries typically don't invest in the technology so low fills can get by visual inspection.

Crazy idea, but possible it was refilled and recapped?

I was just thinking that myself. It's so obvious. There is no way in hell that I could trade a bottle like that, knowing full well how low it is.

Assassin Last Snow is not. Even the cheapest, shittiest bastard wouldn't feel the need to drink a $10 beer and refill it. Right?

I'm not surprised. Funky Buddha has shown poor quality control in the consistency of their beer so why should this be any different. In their defense though, it's the first time I've seen any of their bottles under filled and I've seen a lot of their bottled beer!

    I'd drink that wothout complaint...but I wouldn't send it in a trade.

I don't see what you could gain from drinking a $10 bottle and filling and recapping it with what, a $5 beer? The $5 profit hardly seems worth the hassle and almost definite tarnished trade rep.

And even if you were to play devil's advocate and say someone did that, why would they make it such an obviously low pour? Just had to try a couple ounces of that cheap stout before dumping it into the last snow bottle?

That does often happen in the packaging process. I would almost guarantee thats where this problem stemmed from. They should be taking those bottles out of the lot that will be sold as they are packaging, but clearly there was a lapse in attention. You should drink it as soon as you can though!!! A bottle like that was NOT filled properly and there is a lot more oxygen in that bottle than in others that were filled properly. In other words, it will be oxidized quickly and you should drink it now if at all.

I know at Southern Tier that happens occasionally to their bombers, but they keep those low-fills in their tap room and sell them at like a 75% discount. They don't let low fills hit retailers, or at least they try not to. It's probably just a packaging error on Funky Buddha's part. It happens.

That is a low fill. It should not be on the market.
    oops
    Contact the brewery with pics.
If they respond. Good on them. If not.
    Hmm.
