Ok, flying into Ft. Lauderdale for a work trip to Boca Raton.

1). Should I go to The Funky Buddha Brewery on the way to Boca, or should I go to the Bar and Lounge after I hit the hotel? Which one do people like more? Is there a chance that I will have a better selection of Funky Buddha beers, or other craft offerings at one or the other? (ok, that was more than one question)

    2) How are they connected to eachother? The two places seem to be affiliated, what with the name and logo, but they have completely separate websites that make little or no reference to the other.

    3) Just curious, are the south florida Funky Buddha locations in any way affiliated with the Chicago site that comes up in google? http://www.funkybuddha.com/

1.) I would go to the Lounge first then the Brewery. Since the lounge is the OG.
2.) Same owner. He moved to a bigger system to make more Funky Buddha brew for our enjoyment.
3.) I'm 99% sure no they are not affiliated but I've been wrong before. Asked my wife

they are owned by the same people. They brew beers at the lounge still, so you may luck out and find something off the wall. The loungs serves food. The brewery is much larger and has 3 times as many taps. I would go the Brewery first. Then if time permits go to the Lounge.

    1. The lounge makes better tasting beer. Hop Gun is the exception, since the lounge gets hop gun from the brewery. It's also cozier and friendlier. It also has beer you probably can't get at the brewery, like the Whiskey Sour Brown Ale.
The brewery offers growlers though, so if you want a growler you have no choice.

    2. What was said above.

    3. Don't think it's connected.

I vote for the lounge. It's got so much more character (even if you're not into the hookah bar aspect), it's more intimate, and there is a huge selection of non-Funky Buddha beers both on tap and in bottle. I don't think you can fill growlers at the lounge, but I'm doubting that you're taking any back to MA anyway. Staff are pretty friendly in both locations, but I've had more intimate experiences at the lounge.
    In summary: LOUNGE!

    Doesn't say.
They haven't been keeping up with the facebook updates the past couple weeks as far as growler tuesdays go. Maybe they stopped doing it for whatever reason. I've been keeping an eye open for growlers of something solid, haven't had much except for no crust twice.

Here ya go, they just posted it:
Tonight's growler release (7pm) is STARFRUIT FLORIDIAN

    Nothing worth getting excited about.

I've been to both. They're both fun and previous posts have been mostly correct but one thing is for sure very crucial: DO NOT GET FOOD AT THE LOUNGE. Their pizzas are tiny frozen microwave pizzas and I've heard their paninis are just as bad and it's all overpriced. If you plan on getting food, the brewery is a much better place for it since they usually have a good food truck or two posted up outside. Another main difference between the two is the lounge has other beers offered besides their own (mostly Belgians/local breweries) while the brewery, someone correct me if I'm wrong, does not. Also, the brewery has an entire separate space for cornhole and other such games which the lounge does not have. Although, are you flying in on a weekend or during the week? If it's during the weekend, the lounge will most likely have a good band(s) playing but, again someone correct me if I'm wrong, the brewery doesn't have live music. As you can see, each location has its pros and cons.

Stop by the Oakland Park brewery on your way to Boca for sure, but definitely hit the Lounge. I live way down south of Broward county, so I go to the OP brewery a lot more in part because it's more convenient. I still make it a point to go to the Lounge every now and again, though - it's so much smaller and more unique. Also, I feel like the Lounge has more of the Berliners, more of the time.

Wrong. The brewery has guest drafts, and all are from Florida-based breweries, which is cool. They used to post their tap list daily on the Facebook but moved that to the brewery website and have omitted the list of guest drafts for some reason. Anyway, every time I've been there - including lately - they usually have about 6 or so guest drafts. Some of the breweries they get include Tequesta, Wynwood, Cigar City, Green Room, Pensacola Bay, Engine 15, Native, 7th Sun, etc.

When did they have 7th sun? That would be enough to get me down to Oakland.
