Funniest Beer Branding

Being called one myself on an occasion or two, this one cracked me up.

 

Especially given Conn-Hole and RI-hole just don't have that zing to it.

Rahr and Sons has a beer called adios pantalones. Bought it on the spot

 

Wolf Tree had a nice fresh hop IPA called Buying Greenland.

 

I'm particularly fond of how Evil Twin NYC's marketing program expresses the paradigm of life in NYC. It expresses the minutae and the inner dialogue of a New Yorker who desperately wants to shout these things daily, yet for the better good internalize these vexations, until it transforms into a sense of superiority, which is just a form of coping. Some examples:

WHEN I TRAVEL OUTSIDE NEW YORK IT'S LITERALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO WALK AS SLOW AS EVERYONE ELSE DOES.

AWWWW! HOW CUTE IS THIS. A PAIR OF RATS CHASING EACH OTHER ON THE SUBWAY TRACKS.

I CAN'T HELP BUT FEEL A SPECIFIC ANGER OF WAITING IN LINE TO SWIPE AT THE SUBWAY TURNSTILE BEHIND SOMEONE WHO DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO SWIPE.

YOUR APARTMENT IS SO SMALL. YOU WOULD PROBABLY FIND SOMETHING LARGER FOR LESS MONEY OUTSIDE OF THE CITY.

OMG HOW FUNNY IS THIS. MANHATTAN HAS A STREET NAMED AFTER OUR HOMETOWN HOUSTON.

I loathe the rampant use of non-sequitors for IPA names, ones you would be horrified to order on tap. And I say that as someone who is well versed in Dada and Surrealism.

I prefer clever and thoughtful, if funny.

Anyway, I always and still do enjoy reading the fine print on Lagunitas packaging. Tony McGee, who I always assumed the author as the labels align well with his posts here, is quite prosaic in his dialogue, and double deep in his whimsical spewing. I still love the guy and Lagunitas irrespective of the things that put a branch of the collective arse of BA

 

I seem to have forgotten about Lukcy Basardt. I think the label might be easier to read if you've had a couple first. Or maybe that's the idea?

 

My local brewery has this beauty of a beer. The name and the artwork is fantastic!

 

Bullfrog's Le Roar Grrrz series features a lion with a mini-keg strapped to its neck like a St. Bernard dog. In the old days, the lion would also be carrying a severed arm clutching a glass...

 

This one always makes me chuckle

 

A local brew pub Big Dog's here in Las Vegas has the Leglifter Light or the Tailwagger Wheat. They also have exceptional chow as well. I look forward to a re visit after all this and I will post a place review post 2020. Never got to review it as we went just about a month before they had to shut down. Me and the wife really did have a good time though and enjoyed the food. Stay safe and Cheers BA bro's and sister's!
