Interesting. Wonder how many people are going to show hoping for Hunahpu.
When I was in FL I tried several CC shelf beers and they were all good. I personally liked the White Oak Jai Alai more than the regular.
I won't be able to make it on Thursday, but I hope they keep their beers around and hope the biggies come through at some point.

Damn that is hard to pass up I have been wanting to try some Jai Alai for awhile now. May have to stop by on the way home from work.

What is people's take on the Perrin brews coming to town? worth snagging or just grab a pint at the brewery or when I see it.

Jai Alai is certainly good, although based on the "no good IPA's" thread I'm not so sure it's going to appeal to the uber late hop addition or hazy fans. Jai Alai dates back to 2009 if that's anything. I think it's killer, though.

I can take or leave perrin. I wouldnt be surprised if some no rules got tapped, which is pretty good

There is a place for both styles of IPAs I think. Sometimes I like some bitter west coast style hops some times I am down for less bitter but still want hops. I am sure I will enjoy this one. More just don't want to deal with a crowd to try and drink some of the first keg. If it is going to start popping up every week then I I can wait.

I can't imagine driving out of my way or waiting in line for Jai Alai. It's a good beer, but jeez, there are a million ipa's available now that are just as good. I've had it a few times, and each time thought I'd probably rather have a Union Jack.

While they taste very different, I look at Jai Alai a lot like I look at Two Hearted. It's an excellent IPA that we don't get in CO. We're no worse off as a result of it, either. Back when beers were more regional, it was a bigger deal. The idea that they were making a killer IPA in central Florida was pretty novel in 2009. Now they're making good IPA's in flyover states.

Considering the Facebook posts mentions 2 dates, I'd be weary of further information :grinning:

Exactly this. I've had Jai Alai many times while visiting FL and Two Hearted many times while visiting the upper Midwest. They are both superb IPA's and I look forward to trying them again.......................the next time I visit those places.

If I could get Superpower or Station 26 IPA in FL and MI, I would most likely never have tried JA or TH.

EDIT: Beer can chicken, on the other hand, might be worth a visit.

I love Jai Alai. But, I also love that simple Invasion Pale. Honestly, if I could pick only one Cigar City beer to have regularly available to me in six packs, it'd be Invasion. I could pound that sweet nectar all damned day long.

Having had OB's beer can chicken on several occasions @ North Boulder Liquor it is Always worth a Visit.

For me the food > beer at all of the OB locations...and that's not a slight on the beer at all. They're one of the few places that really seems to "get" southern food. Even when they put a different spin on it, there's something authentic about it.
