FW PNC Tequila Worth

Not really. It depends on how "fair" it is to you in term of difficulty to get that PNC. I paid $25/ea at a local fundraiser last year where I got to drink it on draft! I trade 1 for a BT as a part of a larger trade (when BT was hard to get). I traded the other for something else I can't remember...maybe even a Darkness, again, because Darkness was hard to get for me.

Recently though, I wanted to get a PNC back so I did a local trade using an Abraxas and a Berserker. It was a part of a larger trade where I was happy to put up some easier to get beers for FW Anniversary prior to XVII, so I was happy overall.

Would I trade my PNC now for a non-BA Abraxas 1:1? No. If Abraxas is my thing (it's an awesome beer by the way), I'd do it for Abraxas + something else just because I gave up that much for one.

 

Full disclosure - I have bottles of PNC so this may sound like I'm pumping up the value. We now return to your regular broadcasting.

Doesn't PNC for BA Abraxas seem more "fair"? BA Abraxas is a bit higher rated and has more wants, but doesn't the fact that PNC is a one time brew compensate for that since, I believe, BA Abraxas will be yearly and, if so, will be available in increaing quantities? Maybe it currently falls in the middle of BA and regular Abraxas, but I'd think as time goes on its value will increase. Put it this way - if anyone offered up PNC for regular Abraxas I think they'd get a LOT of interest.

I feel like the above post lists trades on PNC that are pretty generous; no problem with that if everyone is happy ... and, of course, it's harder to suss out values in bigger trades (that's where I'm always inclined to be far more generous). I traded a PNC for life is like as part of a bigger trade.

While not highway robery, I think a straight up trade PNC for Abraxas isn't light. If you REALLY want Abraxas I'd look for some sort of + or try to use the PNC to get something you do REALLY want. Trading it just to trade it doesn't make sense to me.

 

There isn't much logic to trade values for some of these beers the way you think, unfortunately. My sense, having followed the trade forum for a while now along with having a few trades under my belt, is that BA Abraxas commands A LOT more than just a PNC. There's no real rhyme or reason, just my sense of the demand, what's for trade more frequently and what have been traded for them.

We do agree though that Abraxas+ for PNC would be doable.

 

I paid $40 for a PNC bomber at Toronado on multiple occasions if that puts any perspective on it.

 

Considering those in the "know" in RVA, got plenty of Abraxas, I would say this isn't a fair 1:1. Price wise, there's not a huge difference, but rarity and the fact PNC has only been bottled once would indicate you old definitely get more. Best of luck, OP.

 

I recently traded PNC for a Cherry Rye. It was part of a bigger trade, but those two were the meat of the trade. It worked out great for both sides, as we both got some of our favorite brews. As far as your question though, it just depends on if you really want a BA Abraxxas. If you do, and the other person wants a PNC, then it sounds fair to me.

 

My brother traded his semi-recently for a King Henry and another one for a Bramble.

 

I personally would rather have the PNC. That beer to me is a must try.
