I have one bottle of the latest release of each. I want to drink one now, and put the other away for a few months or longer. Which of these beers would likely benefit the most from some time in the cellar? Thanks!

Have you had either one of them fresh? Usually general rule is have them fresh before you age one so you know what the differences are.

This years BBOMB is incredible fresh. I haven't had it aged yet, but fresh has some incredible vanilla action going on.

I've had Sucaba fresh and with a year on it. Both were great. Aged was probably a bit better.

I agree, if you haven't had either of them, you gotta drink it/them. Had Sucaba for the first time this year and it's really an amazing one.

If I'd had to choose, I'd drink the Sucaba, but only because it's one of my favorite beers and I couldn't keep my hands off that bottle if my life depended on it!

there is a certain logic to what has already been stated. that said, those are both pretty big beers in pretty big bottles. i've aged both of the titles & many others without tasting given vintages "fresh" (even when i've had more than a single bottle).

personally, it takes a certain time & space to adequately deal with them. i wouldn't sacrifice comfort for the ritual of "fresh comparison". it's nice to experience the differences aging offers, first hand, but when it comes to the above thinking, i'm a little less concerned about knowing the exact difference between fresh versus aged so long as i'm certain there's little risk of a sudden, steep drop-off of characteristics.
