I wince at all the Denver love when we're talking best breweries. I'd unequivocally skip a bunch of the Denver breweries in favor of Boulder visits:
    - Avery
    - Tasty Weasel
    - Powder Keg
    - Mountain Sun

    Booby Prizes:
    - Left Hand / Vindication / Finkle & Garf's / BRU / FATE
    - Odd13

    Then of course FoCo:
    - Funkwerks
    - Odell ...

Lots of cab time, but far better breweries than many of the named Denver ones.

Avery and Oscar Blues are really the only ones you listed that I might go to over places like great divide, station 26, comrade, dry dock. We already have a mountain sun location called vine street.

Agreed. I quoted the wrong post - the one's you listed are must visits -- more reacting to the guy coming in from Chicago's itin. I'd consolidate the amazing Denver breweries into 1 day and then crush a killer Boulder day ...

Happy you listed Finkle & Garf. That place is seriously underrated.

Odd13 I'd almost call a must-visit for any Colorado beercation at this point. They are killing it on almost every beer style.

It's actually Finkel, not Finkle. I really like their Imperial Red, probably the best I've had.

Thanks for all the ideas and I will definitely take them into consideration. With so little time there on this trip there is no way I'll be able to hit as many of the 'best' breweries in the Denver/Boulder area. Maybe I'll change my first day itin and take the express bus out to Boulder for the breweries out that way. Cheers!

Here is the latest PR from the Brewers Association:

A Greater and Grander Great American Beer Festival®

—Expanded Tasting Hall Bustles with More Brewers, Beers and Education—

Boulder, CO • September 8, 2015—Representing the largest collection of U.S. beer served in a public tasting event, the 34th annual Great American Beer Festival (GABF) grows even grander this year. Presented by the Brewers Association, GABF will offer 90,000 additional square feet in the tasting hall, allowing 60,000 attendees to sample over 3,500 beers from 750 breweries from all over the country.

“There is no other place on the planet where people can sample such an expansive and unique assortment of beers. The sheer size of GABF is what makes it the marquee event for beer lovers,” said Nancy Johnson, event director, Brewers Association. “We’re thrilled to be able to accommodate more attendees than ever with even more opportunities to learn about the world of great American beer.”

Educational and entertainment opportunities can be found throughout the festival hall, as well as in the new BeerX: The CraftBeer.com Experience. The 2,500 square-foot pavilion will be packed with interactive stations about the art and science of brewing and the enjoyment of beer, including:

·Sit & Sip, an opportunity to sit with brewers and hear about their beers.
·You Be the Judge, learn how to taste and evaluate a beer like a certified beer judge.
·Craft Beer Deconstructed, where beer ingredient suppliers will have samples and info about the beer ingredients used.
·Art of Craft Beer, see some of Denver’s most talented artists create art inspired by craft beer from small and independent brewers.

The new expanded section of the GABF tasting hall will also serve as home to the Meet the Brewer booths. Made up of just under 100 breweries, the Meet the Brewer area will have brewers or brewery staff on hand at each booth the entire time, pouring beer samples and talking to attendees about their offerings, with no assistance from GABF volunteers.

“GABF has a long-standing tradition of giving beer lovers the chance to meet and mingle with the brains behind the brands,” added Johnson. “Meet the Brewer booths build on that tradition and are a dedicated area where GABF guests are personally served by the brewer.”

GABF will take place from September 24 to 26 at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver. For more information about GABF and a complete list of sponsors, visit the GABF website. Follow GABF on Facebook, Twitter (#GABF) and Instagram.

Just purchased tickets for the Rockies Vs The Dodgers on Saturday. I myself am not a big baseball fan but the misses is a huge Dodgers fan so should be a fun time. Fellow Denver natives what are your experiences in and around the stadium? Anything I should not miss? I did see Falling Rock is a couple blocks away and awesomely enough they are hosting Casey and will definitely make a stop here.

Falling Rock, Great Divide, Star Bar, Freshcraft, and Lucky Pie are all a short walk from the stadium. For good beer at the game go to the beer stand above the left field bleachers by Famous Daves. It will just be your basic craft stuff, but better selection than the regular vendors. Also check out the Sandlot in the stadium, they usually have a couple decent ones you can't find elsewhere.

You don't have to have the slightest of interest in baseball to enjoy a day at Coors Field. Great ballpark.

They did the multi-line thing a few years ago and it worked well. Back when they finally finished the main convention center. The normal line was larger, but having a 2nd outlet broke up the mob a little bit. I figure it can't hurt.

Is it just me or is the beer list midly disappointing for most breweries? Still pumped to go, but breweries at fests like EBF really showcase their top offerings, not only their year round stuff. First time goer, so hoping for some surprises but other than discovering new breweries, the list seems light on harder to acquire stuff.
