Where are you seeing the list already?...nevermind I just downloaded the app and am checking it out now.

I believe that is last year's list, they haven't updated the app for this year's list yet. That update will come the week of GABF, probably.

Yeah it's last year's list. I thought the same thing at first but the breweries don't matchup.

If it's anything like previous fests, I wouldn't put a ton of stock in the lists of what's pouring. Rarities tend to be tapped at scheduled times, things run out, new items get piloted, names change, breweries no-show, etc.
I'd base my route more around the breweries themselves rather than what you think they'll bring.

Yeah, that's my plan. Hit up the breweries I most want to get to then fill in gaps with some unknowns (to me, at least) and enjoy the session. Can't wait.

Yep...about 5 minutes in I realized it had to be an old list with some of the beers on there.

    Agreed.

It's a big, wide world so everyone can have his or her motivation for going to these kinds of events. Whale-slaying isn't among mine. However, I appreciate those for whom that is their motivation because it puts them in super-long lines and allows me to discover a bunch of really big fish (yes, I know: whales are mammals) that I otherwise wouldn't get to try ... withOUT long lines!

My memory is obviously fuzzy from last year, but didn't Goose Island bring a couple Bourbon County variants, Toppling Goliath had Assassin, Avery was tapping Pumpkyn and Rumpkin straight from barrels...I can't really complain about the tap list.

Yes and the fellows at Port tucked in the far back were sitting on a couple dozen bottles of Churchill's Finest Hour that nobody was drinking 3 hrs into the night. I had 3 pours and stood and chatted with the crew pouring. They couldn't believe nobody was hitting them up. So relax and walk around the place a few times ... You will drink amazing beers and be well lubricated by the end of the night. (I frankly can't imagine people complaining about what the beer lists are ... Wow.)

    Cable Car as well.

I may wait in a long line occasionally but I always like trying the random places that no one ever mentions. There's definitely some sub par beers out there but also a lot that are fantastic.

I suppose if you're looking for particular beers, it would be. For me, it's trying something new or something from a brewery I know I'll never visit. There's no way for me to be disappointed with thousands of beers on hand. (Now the crowd on the other hand....)

I only listed 19 beers.... what do you think I did with the other 50.... j/k I hear what you're saying, but it's a lot of money to drink crappy unknown beer for 1/10 hit rate, I like to at least go 50/50 with known beers.

That's a good point. It's still cheaper, though, to drink crappy beer at GABF than to travel to 9 different states and try crappy beer. Get 'em all out of the way at once!! :sunglasses:

So I am attending GABF yet again this year and WTF for the first time (yay). Was planning on bringing some bottles from sunny (and abnormally hot right now) San Diego and just crack them in the lobby of the hotel I am staying at. Ideally forcing people that want to try some of the bottles to interact outside of their normal beer circles.

Figured a couple Alesmith (velvet and reforged, maybe a bavss if I have any left) and a few Modern Times (rum monsters park variants) should do the trick.

I wish I could say I read all 7 pages of this thread, but sadly I did not (lazy, I know), but anybody else planning to pre-game or want to pre-game before a couple GABF sessions? I believe I am at the Sheraton downtown this time around, and unless they strictly forbid me from opening bottles that would be the plan.

If you are heading to Denver for GABF and are a 40+ year old guy, Pints for Prostates, in collaboration with the Prostate Conditions Education Council and 1400 Miles, is offering a free men’s health screening event for brewing industry members and beer fans.

The Brewers Health Initiative is a free, quick and easy way to take charge of your health. A simple blood test taking approximately 10 minutes will screen for prostate specific antigen, glucose, lipids and testosterone levels. Participants will receive a confidential report sent directly to them after the event that they can review with their doctor. The blood tests being run have a value of $700 and scan for several important male health issues.

The Brewers Health Initiative will operate on Wednesday (Sept. 23) and Thursday (Sept. 24) from Noon to 4 p.m. and Saturday (Sept. 26) from 10:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. at the corner of 14th Street and Stout Street under a tent adjacent to The Beerliner in the Focus Parking lot, across from the Colorado Convention Center, site of the GABF. On Friday (Sept. 25) the men’s health screening will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. adjacent to the McNichols Civic Center Building at 144 W. Colfax, the site of the Denver Rare Beer Tasting VII.

Guys: 1. Get Tested. 2. Live Longer. 3. Drink More Beer!
