The TG crew popped open some bottles for the people sitting at the bar. Good 2-3 oz pour of each.

Any idea when people started lining up yesterday to get in?

I'm in the same boat and I'd be curious to hear about any timed releases to see if my route planning needs to be updated!

I was there about 45 mins before open and was in the second row to get opened up. Once they open it all goes pretty fast though

Got there around 4:45 and was towards the back of the first big line. Got in maybe 5 mins after opening and went straight to TG to try some MD. Wandered around till 7:15 to try abnormal's BA M3 (favorite of the night). Fremont, great notion, and pretty much everybody else lasted the entire night unlike last year. Seems like people brought a lot more beer. Sam Adams brought utopia which was boozy as hell. If you go to RR they have beatification. Went through lost abbey a few times since they had DDG and veritas 18/19. Cellarmaker has imp c&c and BA vastness. Black project ran out. Weldwerks Medianoche lasted till 9ish? They also had the brewers do a talk where they poured Reserve (benefit of just walking around and wandering into it).

BL is tapping FO tonight at 7? Keep an eye out for that.

Lights Out at 11 (Prison City) and Dosvidanya Vanilla Rye (Destihl) were two of my favorites. El Caliente (Brooklyn), Big Papi (Commonwealth), and 28 Haze Later (Beachwood) were a few others that stood out.

Great Notion was doing a Blueberry Muffin and Double Stack cuvee. Tasted like straight blueberry pancakes if you’re into that sort of thing.

I don't know if these are all that well known, but I spent GABF wandering around looking for interesting or unique beers. Didn't do much rare hunting but did hit up quite a few highly praised breweries without many lines. I only waited about 5 minutes tops and that was at Scratch to start off the night. For unique beers, I 100% recommend trying a couple of Scratch beers. I went with Leaves and Seeds and was not disappointed with the earthy, nature feel when drinking them.

Favorite surprise beers of the night (styles all over the place):
    Troeg: BA Troegenator
Coop Ale: 2017 BA Wild Wheat Wine Honey Ale
    Madtree Brewing: Joon
    Moody Tongue: Chocolate Churro Porter
Pfriem: Pruim (they ran out about halfway through the night, got part of the last bottle)
    Cellermaker: Lost Wisdom
Barrel of Monks: had a nice variety of Belgians, none were the pinnacle of the style but I was happy to enjoy each of their offerings with no line
Coppertail: loved the Cucumber Weiss and enjoyed their Oktoberfest and pilsner, again no line to try them

And somehow, my favorite beer of the night was Tummy Sticks from Brew Bus. I promise I wasn't even all that buzzed when I tried this dill pickle gose. I was in line to try their Berliner Weiss when the guy in front of my started raving about the pickle beer. One sip and needless to say I stopped by a each time I happened to pass their booth for another go. I sounds weird, and some people might hate it, but gosh did I really enjoy the refreshing flavor of a dill pickle gose throughout the night.

Sitting here in Littleton at Jakes and just thinking about my favorite part of GABF - getting ridiculous beer lineups at small, local joints all over the Front Range. I've been tasting through Casey, pFreim, Boneyard, Rare Barrel, Société and more this afternoon. Plus playoff baseball!

Life is good, folks (even IF we have to tolerate the Yankees leading their game).

Here's a surprise that probably shouldn't be: Mountain Sun's booth is $. Best line-up at the show, IMO.

Whats everybody's opinion of the new layout? I found it more confusing and more crowded than last year's. Honestly, my biggest issue was the location of the bathrooms. A majority of them (all? I didn't notice any others) were along the back wall so getting to/from there in the crowd was a pain. The lines for the "biggie" breweries - Dogfish, Firestone, Lost Abbey - were longer than I remember from previous years. If I were going again, I'd almost exclusively stick to the Pacific and Pacific NW sections. Even the lesser-known breweries were pouring fantastic beers.

It alsoto see if I was off or not. She made the same face as I did. It was what the fuck was that?? Seriously that was so bad
