Picked up some GABF week stuff. Surly furious I could never have again and be happy. It’s really a malty ipa. Kind of old school and it is the darkest ipa I’ve ever seen. Canned date is super fresh 9/13/17

Todd the Axe Man is absolutely delicious and blows away Furious, in my opinion. It's quite a bit more expensive, but it's not basically a red IPA like Furious.

I'll be flying in Wednesday from NC with some buddies for our first GABF trip. I was looking at the IPA event Wednesday night at Falling Rock Tap House. Tickets go on sale at 7:30. Anyone have experience with this event?

I have not but if you look at the IPA event at Union station during the day it’s basically the same Breweries and it’s not ticketed

I went last year and it was bad ass! if I remember correctly, I don't think it was ticketed. They may be doing tickets this year to limit the number of people since last year was an absolute cluster. Still a great time and I don't think the first beer kicked until about 30 mins or so into the event. You could get pours of anything you wanted. Lawsons Double Sunshine was the winner for me. I should also add that Maine Beer Co. Lunch was the first beer to kick followed by Sip of Sunshine which was replaced by Double Sunshine.

I went to the Falling Rock event last year and also don't remember the ticket thing. But I sure do remember it for being a total sh*t show. It was like the worst fraternity party I've even been to. But with the best IPAs I've ever tasted. Fortunately/unfortunately this year I will be at What the Funk so I may miss this. If that turns out to be a total disaster again, I may head out early and come over and join the throngs.

Some of the same breweries but definitely different beers. Comparing the list on Westword for Union Station with the list for Falling Rock on FB I don't think I saw any overlaps in the beers.

You are correct sir, it wasn't ticketed last year. I showed up right as Lunch kicked, it took quite some time to get our beers, but was definitely worth it. I plan on going again this year.

I didnt realize furious is considered a red, kind of. Explains the color and taste better now. I thought back in the day it was a hoppy ipa but I guess not. I did get a can of Todd but haven’t had it yet. Got Fremont field to ferment and it’s tasty also modern times hoppy tropical. Surly gone away, daisy cutter and Lawson’s super session#8 and the guy at the store said they are getting sips of sunshine next week

If you pass on Amalgamator, you're doing it wrong.

This is the truth. That is easily one of the best IPAs on the market this week, IMO.

FNA I saw that one and was going To grab it. Saw the reviews were excellent on it. Think the $14.99 price tag is what turned me off.

10 bucks should be the price per 6er. I bought a case. It's delicious.

Where are y'all finding these in Denver? Just moved down from Boulder which was easy to navigate by just always stopping in at Hazels. I checked the shelves at Argonaut last night and saw no Surly, Beachwood, MT, Lawsons, etc

Argonaut sells out quickly and hides stuff in back.

Every area of town has a place that carries these. Davidson's, Mile High, Mr. B's, Grapevine, Applejack, Tipseys, Small Batch, etc. Molly's probably has them, but they're hidden behind a bullshit paywall.

Nope. Wife is on the way home with some and it was $14.99. Guess I got hosed. Oh well. If it’s as good as you guys are saying I’m cool with the price for this one time
