This will be my first trip to Denver next week and I'm pretty stoked about it! I've been doing a lot of reading here and other sites to try and give myself an idea what to expect. As a first timer these are what I'm thinking about as I try to plan. Looks like I'm in for a real treat......

If I wanted to bring home a couple bottles and I wanted to buy a shipper while in town I was wondering if there are any stores downtown that sell shippers? I prefer to use a shipper over packing in my luggage. I've done that before and will do that if there is no place that sells shippers downtown. So who sells shippers?

I've read in a few threads about beer releases at a variety of places during the week. For example, Crooked Stave is releasing Origins #2 on the 9th. There doesn't seem to be any central place that lists all the releases. With the sheer number of places in Denver I've come across I don't even know if that's even possible. But I'll ask anyway. Is there a place that lists all the beer releases in town for the week? If you know something and want to BM some info, too, that would be fine. Maybe the one or two releases you don't want to miss! Or some special tapping you don't want to miss. A lot of stuff I know about here at home tends to be word of mouth as well. So I get that aspect.

Finally, one quick observation. I didn't really plan for anything on Friday or Saturday nights thinking that some beer dinners would pop up. But the majority of beer dinners I'd be interested in are earlier in the week. Thinking about it it makes sense since the individuals involved are most likely at GABF at those times. But having some good beer dinners even at those times from some big name breweries would have been nice to choose from. Since I missed out on tickets to What the Funk I'd be open to that if anyone has any tix they don't need

    Looking forward to it! Cheers!
    John

On another note I lived in Greenville, SC, a couple years ago. I will be wearing a Greenville Drive ball cap all week. If you see it say hello. Looks like this:

I don't know of any special beer releases next week other than Origins and L'Brett. IMHO, there's enough rare beer being tapped and going around that week that any beer releases seem like overkill.

Instead of looking at special beer dinners, I'd recommend checking out some of the breakfast/lunch events breweries are hosting. Check out Oskar Blues, Avery, etc.

I'd check out the Brewtally Insane blog for a list of special beer tappings.

There's an Office Max/Depot at the north end of 16th street mall. Not sure if they have shippers, but that's my best guess

I have just purchased a box and bubble wrap from the UPS store downtown on Larimer between 15th and 16th. Then return it filled with my collectable glassware or cooking supplies.

Office Max or UPS may be the way to go then.

Anyone frequent any stores that ship beer or wine? That may be another way to ask. Those stores are usually more than happy to sell what they use, too.

    Cheers!

I've never seen a styro bottle shipper in either Max or UPS (or u-haul ) in Denver. I was looking for some locally a while ago and found none. Didn't check wine stores. I ended up ordering some on u-haul.

Oct 22nd last year. Current members have Oct 16th - Nov 12th to re-up so speculation is it's after that this year. I haven't heard anything from Crooked Stave on a date.
