FYI - the GABF app has been updated to include the entire beer pour list. It's pretty snazzy. I'm disappointed that the "beer tour" functionality is limited to 20 beers at a time though.

Is there anyway to pull the entire list of beers on a computer for printout?

Not that I can see. The website makes you pick a brewery before listing out the beers.

Ah cool, been waiting for the update. It looks like the app will come in handy.

I wonder if reception is any better in the convention center. does it only run when connected? Or is the list available locally on my device? Would it save ratings if you have no connection? Reception in the past was pretty minimal once inside.

agree that reception has sucked in the past, but they're claiming you don't need to be connected when using this year's app. cross your fingers.

I thought the Convention Center offered wifi?

Doesn't matter anyway - I disconnected from the internet on my iPod Touch and the app still has full functionality. Thanks drumrboy22.

nice. could be wrong, but i think you need a password for wifi at the convention center.

I like the app. Only thing I'd like is the ability to make a list of beers to try. Much like the way we can make a list of breweries. Other than that it's pretty solid.

The new app is definitely a huge step forward, but the following functionality would put it over the top:

    1) Create a custom itinerary by beer & brewery. As it stands now, you just add a brewery to your "My GABF" list but the breweries are listed alphabetically and by section instead in the order I want to visit them in. They also don't allow you to list beers, only breweries.

    2) The "Beer Tours" functionality needs to list more than 20 beers at a time and needs to list them by section instead of alphabetically. As it stands now, it may tell you that the next beer on your "tour" is on the other side of the convention center when there could be a perfectly good beer that fits the description in the booth next to yours.

    3) If the beer is being poured at a certain time (i.e. Utopias), list that time.

That's really it. #1 is huge for me. I like to plan out my first 10 beers but this app doesn't let me do that.

Ugh...I thought I'd be fine tonight, as far as hangovers go for tomorrow, but I totally forgot about lapping Utopias. Damnit.

The only annoying part of the app is when you touch a brewery to see what beers they are pouring and go back the list resets to the top. When going back to the brewery list it should keep my place.

Is there a new patch for the beta app?

This defeats the purpose of tapping at a certain time if everyone knows about it. The whole point is they want you to come to the booth and ask about it or find out about it, then come back for it. This shows interest and the people that really want it will seek it out. Hence why Chocolate Rain was at 7:something Thursday night and 8:07p Friday night, probably a different time tonight as well.

But I agree with #1... I still printed out my list (and didn't use the app) because it was easier than tapping each brewery individually to see their list in the app.

Yeah, I can see what you're saying - good point. I think my comment was more focused on determining which beers are considered a "special tapping" or not. For example, BCS was considered a "normal" beer by Goose Island while the coffee version was considered a "special" tapping. It would be nice for the app to put an asterik or something next to beers considered special tappings.

Yea, I agree, I totally thought Black Note and Vietnamese Speedway would be and they weren't.
