We're doing the Farm to Table Pavilion this year and would love to hear some people's input on the experience.

I've heard it ranges from a must try to others saying it's somewhat overrated.

My only question is if you can go back and try a pairing again if it's really good? Or is it one and done for each of the offerings?

    Thanks!

I had a good time last year and will be doing it again this year. You can go back and try a pairing again if you'd like. Most stations will be offering 2 different pairings.

Awesome, thanks for the quick reply! Good to hear it was worth a return trip!

We went to GABF last year and had a blast, so I figured we'd 1up it this year and add the farm-to-table element in.

Getting damn excited over here!!! 2 more days!

Last year we had a late lunch so we didn't wander in there until 7:30-8. I think this year I will try to hit it up a bit earlier. Not that there was any degradation in the offerings at that later point, that I could tell, but I was filling up on beer and not that hungry last year. I am excited too.

I did it last year and was disappointed. I arrived at the pavilion sometime around 7:45PM and I'd say that about half of the food and beer offerings were already gone. The food that was left was mostly average - I remember that the oysters they flew in were particularly bad. The super-duper special beer offerings they offer aren't really that special or rare. I also didn't like that going through the pavilion took considerable time away from visiting the normal GABF booths and drinking their offerings....which is what GABF is all about, right?

On the plus side, the pavilion is MUCH quieter than the GABF floor and you have in-and-out privileges. This makes the space a nice reprieve if you need a break from the chaos. Also, the VIP admission line that used to be reserved for early-booking AHA members is now for Farm-to-Table ticket holders. This is a HUGE benefit since you can essentially show up at 5:15PM and you'll be inside the convention center before anybody else in the GA line.

My piece of advice is to go to the pavilion early. Don't wait until 7:45PM like I did.

Did you do it on Thurs or Fri? I didn't have any issues last year on Thurs.

Looking forward to this! We are doing the farm to table this year on Thursday.
