GABF days have officially begun. What is your plan of attack for this years fest? Now that the beer list is out what is a cant miss booth?

I usually walk into the fest with the mindset of "i'll focus on porters and stouts today and do sours or IPAs on Saturday" but that nevvver ends up happening. To many tempting offerings that just sound delicious.

I will have to stop by the (512) booth to get some Whiskey Barrel Double Pecan Porter as well as Bear Republic for some Tartare. Am also excited to try some Propitiation from RR. What about you guys?

The problem with posting specific beers is two-fold: 1) Everybody's taste varies; and 2) Once posted, I'm afraid that everybody (esp the lurkers) will flock to these booths. This means less beer and longer lines for me. :-(

I'm going to two sessions this year. My plan for the first (tonight) is to hit up my "can't miss" breweries....which are about 10....and then concentrate on the Pacific NW and Mtn areas. If that doesn't work out or I'm in a particularly sour mood, I'm going to call an audible and go on a "sour tour". My next session will exclusively concentrate on the Pacific region, which looks stellar.

From the beer list I've seen, Mountain, NW, and Pacific are the highlights. SE and SW look pretty pedestrian to me - with a few notable exceptions.

Your best bet (among this very "first rule of Fight Club" kind of group we got here) is to look back at last year's threads about the breakout breweries...and hit those (if they got in again this year  ).

Yeah, because your opinion will drain the booth of the beer you recommended. There's tons of brews until 10pm, and I didn't see very many at all tap out, but if you would've told the world what you like of course they would be gone by now.......

I saw a lot of tapped out beers. Sun king was gone, so was three floyds, a lot of the heavy hitters were out of super popular beers. Sure, there was a lot of shit left over Saturday night, but all the beers I was really wanting to check out were looooong gone.

Special tappings, my friend. Let's say 50 lurkers read this thread (that's a conservative estimate) and I'd list out the special tappings that I had my eye on. 50 people in line in front of me = yes, I do miss out on that beer. That makes me unhappy. I don't like being unhappy. Cheers!
