GABS is happening in Auckland for the first time this year. There is a pretty good representation of the festival beers; but a disappointing lineup of other beers from our Australian mates.

Any must - trys amongst the festival beers? The Pirate Life Loose Lips is at the top of my list.

Never tried Feral Watermelon Warhead or Feral Karma Citra?
Edit: did you mean from this years list?

As to the OP, the list for Auckland is a bit different to the Melbourne one, Morningtons peach ISA was ok from memory.

Yes, we've got a smaller selection. Getting smaller by the day - was looking forward to Red Carpet but it was scratched last night!

Watermelon Warhead is one of my favourite drinks. Its astounding how much flavour they packed into a 2.9% beer.

The event was pretty disappointing in terms of the beers offered in Sydney and I would think that Beervana would be more worth your time.

That said, from the ones I tried I enjoyed:

    Pirate Life Loose Lips
La Sirene Biere Henri (certainly gimmicky but I enjoyed it)
    Kereru Coffee Imperial Stout
    8 Wired Sour IPA thing
    Liberty Black IPA

So mostly the New Zealand beers anyway...

I liked the Killer Sprocket "Shiny" Coffee IPA though it's not for everyone.

I missed the Nail stuff this year. I was hoping for Flaming Lamington to make a comeback but that might be later in the year.
