Galactic Double Daisy Cutter release Friday

im hearing the line is an hour+ long...can anyone confirm? that seems a touch ridiculous.

 

Thought I'd try at lunch but the line was too long for me to be able to do it. Was maybe 60 deep outside an hour ago. I would have guessed 40 min wait, but again, I didn't wait around.

 

How does this surprise you as someone who lives in or around Chicago and drinks beer? I'm surprised it's not sold out already.

 

My friend got his 4 bottles. He waited 40 minutes but he got there around 1145.

I can't wait to try some tomorrow.

EDIT: He also said they had a shitload of them. It may still be available later tonight or even Saturday. His words.

 

Last year sold out by 7pm the day they were released...and I'm pretty sure it was a Wednesday. The limit was 6 though. This led to smaller limits on other releases (that proved to be unnecessary I would add).

 

Had to work but my wife and her freind went. Just got through the line about a half an hour ago, got an allotment and a growler of something, she didn't remember what of but something standard.

Btw, thumbs down to whoever in line offered to impregnate my wife and her friend. Rude AND overly ambitious.

Was hoping to get there after work but doesn't look good. Buddy told me that one of the guys said they had gone through a pallet about 1:30 and had about 3/4 of a pallet left at the time. Don't know if someone can corroborate this. Probably all gone or close to it now. Will have to try luck with distro it seems...

 

Last year = One batch total w/ 6 bottle limit AND kegs lasted until ~6/7:00.
This year = Two batches (same size batch?) but less allotment 6/4 and bottles only. Second batch for the kegs.

Seems it should last But what do I know. I was shocked as shit it went so quick last time.

 

Just remember this will be better than any pipeworks beer you'll get.

I was there earlier today. Wound up waiting maybe 50 minutes to grab three bombers of the stuff. Was really surprised to see the line out the door and around Wild Goose, especially at 1 o'clock on a Friday. Sort of nuts.

 

This doesn't mean anything. I stand by my statement.

 

Ouch. Hopefully it is better than Shewolf. That beer sucked.
