So, I don't like IPAs. I have had several, and really enjoyed DFH 60 & 90 minute. Opened my mind to continue trying IPAs. I just tried Bell's Two Hearted and had the same experience. Man thats good stuff. So, what's a gamechanger for a style you don't really like?

I should start out by saying I don't like IPAs, other than DFH's.

A - not too big of a head. looking like a medium colored ale.... looking good.

S - As they claim, a strong wonderful bouquet of floral aromas.

T - The reason I love this IPA, compared to most of the others that I do not, is that it has a flavorful and distinct hop profile that is pronounced, but not overwhelming, abrasive, puckeringly bitter, and sharply sustaining like a mouthful of fresh cut grass. This is how i perceive most IPAs, but this one is divine. Some grapefruit notes in it. Nice balance with malts.

M - I don't remember anything much about the mouthfeel, I had this several hours before writing the review. good carbonation though.

Overall, I'd take this any day that the weather is over 65. Man, I never thought I'd say that about ANY IPA. Kudos, Bell's.

DFH 90 minute is what got me into IPAs. Up until that point, I had strongly disliked IPAs that I had tried. Though I can't give that particular beer all the credit seeing as how I was being more open-minded and trying other styles that were also pretty bitter. Interestingly, though, I'm not particularly fond of Two Hearted, which is unfortunate seeing as how it's ostensibly on tap just about everywhere.

Agreed on two hearted. But what the hell does "medium colored" mean?

I always had a hard time with stouts, and then I had a Founders Breakfast Stout. It was great - now I love a good stout every now and then.

I could never get into Wee Heavy/Scotch Ales until I had Alesmith's. Mind blowing stuff. Changed my opinion of the style entirely.

sucks... the biggest grapefruit bomb in the universe... made me instantly obsessed with DIPAs. Even made me retry IPAs which generally didn't thrill me in the past.

    such a glorious beer. truly.

Great Lakes Wright Pils... didn't necessarily dislike the style, but found it uninteresting. That beer blew my mind. I had no idea a pilsner could be so flavorful and complex.

Add in Russian River and any of their sours. Still don't like pretty much anybody else's, but theirs are excellent.

I've never really been a fan of Saisons, but I absolutely dig Goose Island Sofie.

Xyauyu series are all next level barleywines. I've been working on the same bottle of BA Xyauyu for a few weeks now (recorking every time) and it seems to get better the MORE oxidized it gets.

Pannepot for quads, but it cheats a bit (meant to be a melding of quad and foreign export stout)

Alesmith Wee Heavy is smoothingly decieving. A beer that encourages one to hurry, then be sad when it is gone.

I generally don't like doppelbocks, even the legendary high rated ones, but I liked Jack's Abby Saxonator.
