Personally, I pass on gbot a lot, because I think 12.99 for the four pack is expensive. I get it once in awhile for a special treat, but I usually grab sea hag for 8.99. To me sea hag is almost as enjoyable and is half the price. However, is sea hag did not exist then I would definitely buy more bot.

I've never seen it for as low as $10 but $20 is definitely overpriced. Please name the store. I'm tired of BAs complaining about pricing but refuse to name the store for some odd reason. Personally I think a store can price the beer at whatever they want but if you find the price to be unfair go ahead and call them out. Also, I think it's even worse that they claim NEBC makes them charge that price. Even if NEBC told them that (which I'd be 99.9% positive they would not) the brewery has no way of regulating price in CT once it has left their hands and goes to the distributor.

Exactly,I find it funny that people can complain about being ripped off, but don't want to call these stores out.

I have no idea what GBot costs, I never see it around anywhere.

I paid $12.99 for a 4pk at Willowbrook in Cromwell before Christmas, they're prices are usually pretty good

$13-$15 is what I usually see it for, and that's fine by me. $20 is a ripoff.

As others have said, NAME THE STORE...

I outed them to the Nebco distributor. I agree with you that they have the right to charge whatever they want. Obviously I paid for it. Never again though. Love the beer but now that I have 100% certainty of what the proper pricing is, I'll wait until it comes around closer to me or make a trip up Woodbridge.

the distributor won't really do anything about it, they say they will, but nothing will happen, good luck

The distributor can't control what stores charge unfortunately, all they can do is ask the store to charge less or not send it to that store. But then if the store complains to the liquor commission that the distributor is with holding it from them, then the distributor is in trouble. Kind of shitty that the brewery can't legally be involved in who gets what like in VT with Lawsons, HT, and Hill Farmstead stuff. Basically if a store is over charging, do not buy the beer there, and feel free to out the store online, so that we could avoid going there. If there's no price tag, and you get to the register and the price is crazy, don't feel bad about putting the beer back or telling the store that they're over charging.

Which is kinda what happened with gbot already. An unnamed store asked for it, distributor said no, state got involved. Now each salesman for both distributors is allowed one case for his area. Kinda shitty. At least I get the case for my area . It pays to make nice nice with your salespeople

Those guys in VT self distribute, so they have a lot of leeway on how the beer is used.

And I agree the only way to address this is at a consumer level. Call out the store on all the places possible and try to get as many people in the "beer" community to avoid the store, but then again no one is making any money on over charging on a case of GBot. At some point some of these owners will realize its not worth the hassle of everyone calling every other day to see if he/she has a specific beer and continue to service his current BMC and liquor regulars

Oooooooh yeah...... I know that place.... Once got yelled at when I went into that store for browsing and not buying anything (horrid beer selection; though that could have changed this was a few years ago). Seems like exactly the kind of place that would take advantage of customers in that way.

To add insult to injury the guy mentioned he had Lawson's SIP but wouldn't sell it to me.
