Went looking for Gandhi Bot today. Found a 4 pack! My lucky day, until he rang up the 4 pack dated 5/23/15 at $29.99. Wow! It stayed there. It was Century package in Cromwell, CT. Just sad. I won't be going back there. Unreal!

I haven't seen Gandhi "in the wild" in so long! I hope that changes when NEBCO gets that bigger brewhouse this fall

That's the highest I've heard of. And I thought I was getting bent over paying $17 for a 4-pack of SoS.

Nearly 3 month old DIPA for $7.50 a can? GTFO with that pricing. The comforting thing is that it's still there, so nobody has lost their wits and paid that amount.

Are there any non shady beer stores in CT? Heard so many shitty stories.

Yes there are still solid beer stores out there, but far and few between! My two locals tend to be fairly straightforward, but both take care of their regular customers

Yes, but it's tough. The best way to find stuff is to get on call lists and be long-term customers. A store near where I live calls me when SoS comes in, and it's priced at $14. A store literally 1.5 miles farther charges $20.

Liquor Depot in New Britain hasn't changed any of their prices on things like Gandhi even though it's in high demand. They still sell Hag at $8.99 a sixer.

WOW!!! 8.99 for the Hag. I have seen it for 12.99 a sixer 20 minutes down the road from the brewery.

The Connecticut beer scene is horrible.
I will say that when NEBCO goes full on in October things will be better. I would think there will still be limits but I think there will be a greater chance that all the people that want a particular release will be able to get some not all but some.

Right, I think once stuff gets shipped out enough so that the shelves don't run dry it should be fine. Then it will be: "Oh you're price gouging? I'll just drive a mile down the street to the next packy where they have a case of the stuff and I can get it for less." This atmosphere of critically low supply has created this price-gouging market.

I honestly think part of this is that CT just wasn't ready for a big beer scene like what is going on now. When I started drinking craft it was NEBCo, Hooker, Burnside, Cavalry, and you could make the trip up to Willimantic. Now, it's freakin' chaos and so many DIPAs are hitting the market in limited volumes surrounded with crazy hype. Hope it gets better.

I agree with this. These people are new to handling this kind of demand for beer. I think it will eventually get better. NEBCO producing more is a good step forward.

I could care less if they were ready for it or not. Gouging is a dick move. If a restaurant said oh wait we only have one ribeye left at 5 p.m. on a Saturday night, so instead of it being $40 it's going to be $120. That would be no different and just as ridiculous. Sell things fairly and treat people right. That's just something you should do in life, not just as the owner of a packey.

Thats dumb. A brewery that doesn't sell their own cans

We have distributors the muck up selling your own stuff at the brewery. And old out dated laws. It would be awesome if they could do a Tree house model, but that presents it's own set of issues.
