Gansett Bock

I've been watching for it for a few weeks now and still haven't seen it anywhere. I don't dig everything 'gansett puts out but the bock is a great one and a solid value.

Its a great beer. I wish it were year round. The Bock and Boh Pils are their 2 best!

 

Pretty sure theyre not. Hasnt been out the past couple seasons.

 

I think this is correct. Their Facebook page is hyping up the summer seasonal's.

 

It was certainly available last spring in Boston.

 

Brewery rep confirmed to me they weren't canning it this year.

 

I was afraid of that when the honey beer came out.

 

Most like getting prepare to flood market with Del's Shandy

 

Must have been the prior year's batch. They didnt release new batches of it last season.

 

Already spotted Del's Shandy in the wild today.

 

Disgusting.

 

I thought it was quite odd myself.

 

I've seen the bohemian pils, but no bock...

Gansett released Lovecraft as kind of a stopgap/quasi seasonal to roll out Summer and Shandy as soon as possible. I think they envision turning into the Shipyard Pumpkinhead model.

 

Did not like the Lovecraft honey ale at all. Very dissapointing. Honestly I think the bock is the best beer they make and it gets shoved to the side and replaced by the honey ale.

 

Yeah, no Bock this year. It last came out around Christmas of '13 and remained available in early '14. Agreed that it's good; their straight-up porter is great, too (that one's been shelved even longer).

Some folks here tout their Bohemian Pils - I agree. Good stuff.

 

I really wish they would just make a solid IPA.
