I am not going to claim these are world class. But for the price per 6 pack, Gansett cans are solid beers. Boh Pils and Shandy are solid summer beers, so much so I have not even tried this years Summer. And it's usually a regular buy. Autocrat although thin was a good beer. The Bock is a great example of style. The extinct canned porter was a bit "band aid-ee". But very drinkable at 7%ish. I also like the Fest beer. Finally the Larger and Light are big upgrades over any normal BMC offering. That being said I don't hesitate on Gansett cans. Bomber are less than stella. O'well. Gansett is a top 5 RI brewery to me. Still hoping for a good canned IPA or DIPA
Agreed, better alternative to BMC products. For the price, unbeatable. Ice cold out of the cooler on the beach, how can that be bad... Haven't tried this years summer, but saw they are now in 12 oz. 12 packs. Was a little sweet for me lately, but I will drink a few over the course of the summer. Cheers to the beach!
Only problem is that the prices seem to be going up. I could find places that had Gansett seasonals for 7.99 and that was awesome but now its much harder to find them at that price and more often than not these days I see them for 8.29 or 8.99.
Yeah I agree but seeing them for 7.99 always made me smile. Any stores still sell them for that price let me know.
Thorpe's in East Greenwich has summer ale for $7.59 I believe. Only place in this area that is sub-$8. (also one of the few places in RI that has BBC bombers for $3.99)
I have seen the Shandy as high as $10 in MA. Absolutely highway robbery. Where does Gansett brew out of anyway?
