*I apologize if I should not post this here or if it's not appropriate, I just felt it a great place to see if it's worth pursuing. If I violate rules with this post, please delete it! I don't know what's going on around the front range in Colorado in the beer industry. Mostly due to laziness, I don't usually navigate around to all the brewer's websites to see what's going on. I check my favorite breweries' events and releases very often, which usually results in making those and missing all others in the area. I wish there was a one-stop website out there for the Colorado front range beer industry news/events/etc. Just something I could check occasionally to keep up to date and read; also to bring it closer together and form a stronger community overall. This area is exploding with new breweries popping up everywhere, there's just too much to keep track of. Luckily I'm a web developer and can make this hypothetical website happen. I'd like to know if anyone else sees value in this besides me. I want to make it clear that if I were to make this happen, it would NOT be for monetary gain and it would almost certainly remain an after-work hobby. Obviously I would do the initial work but eventually I'd like many people helping with keeping content current. Its main goal would be beer advocacy to the front range... that's it. What do you think? Would this be as helpful as I imagine it would be?
I find things out via a mishmash of Facebook/Twitter and this forum, although Chipperdave's Fermentedly Challenged (http://www.fermentedlychallenged.com/) is a good daily news source. He posts on here occasionally.
Awesome, that fermentedly challenged website looks to be pretty much what I was thinking. Don't know how I've never heard of it.
While ideally that should be the answer...ever since the forums became disconnected from the reviews/events/places/etc. I've noticed that people aren't using them as much. Hopefully once we're eventually back to using one interface, that area will blossom again.
I get all my information from Denver Off the Wagon (denveroffthewagon.com). They do a really nice weekend preview post on Friday mornings that lists all the booze-related events. Example: http://www.denveroffthewagon.com/2012/08/10/weekend-off-the-wagon-august-10-12/
Westword http://blogs.westword.com/cafesociety/beer_man/ He covers pretty much everything under the sun and typically posts all weekend activities for the week/weekend Example: http://blogs.westword.com/cafesocie...h_a_block_party_oskar_blues_keeps_growing.php
If you ever need info about goings on down here in the Springs you can always check: http://www.focusonthebeer.com/ They not only are on top of the news of the city but also make quite a few of the events happen.
This thread turned out to be very useful for reasons I didn't expect at all. This is awesome, saves me from a ton of work.
