GBS Availability

It wasn't a brewery only release, GBS and all the variants were distributed throughout VA. He might have a chance at finding some around VA beach, but they've been selling out almost instantly in Northern VA.

 

If your friend can swing by the brewery in Richmond, they are selling bottles there this Wednesday. 12 bottle limit.

 

There was good bit around . Check with Grape and Gourmet , Whole Foods and Total Wine in Va. Beach . Lynnhaven Pub may have some left . They sell bottles to go .

 

Northern Virginia has been thoroughly cleaned out. VA Beach i have no idea. Bring a growler, some may have it on tap. Also, there are/ were a couple variants floating around - like the bourbon gbs. I know places that had some bourbon gbs bottles left even after selling out the regular gbs.

 

Rum GBS absolutely FLEW off of shelves in NOVA yesterday and today. Unreal.

 

the brewery is doing limited hours bottle only sales of GBS today. (no draft pours of anything, only GBS bottle sales)

 

It looks like Total Wine in VA beach might still have some, it shows limited inventory for both GBS and Bourbon GBS on their website. If he can stop by there, have him ask for it at the customer service counter. They usually keep limited release stuff behind there.

Also looks like TW in Newport News and Norfolk might have GBS, if those locations are closer to him.

 

GBS is $11 and Bourbon GBS is $14. Both come in 750ml bottles.

 

Bourbon GBS is gone in VB but most places still have regular GBS, I even saw it at Trader Joes & Whole Foods yesterday. Just call there or TW.

So I'm in Richmond until Wednesday am. I'd like to try to find a bottle or two of GBS or any variants. Does anyone know what stores/gas stations might have any left? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

 

Honestly, I live right in the middle of Richmond next to Byrd park and I've noticed a severe lack of gbs on store shelves all over. Very strange distribution this year. Then I walk into the carytown kroger one morning and find 3 CASES of rum barrel gbs just sitting there.

 

It has been a strange year for GBS. The staggered release has thrown availability into almost a truck chasing game around Richmond. While I can't confirm it, I get the impression that most of the beer went to NoVa and Tidewater, leaving locals to have to chase small deliveries of it. My local bottle shops would get a case 1 day, then 2 cases of bourbon the next week, then another single case a week later. It's weird.

It seems your best bet is hitting the brewery itself, but at the Rum GBS release the base was limited to 2 bottles per while you could by 4 of the variants. Don't even get me started on the Christmas Morning.

 

There were 4-5 (regular GBS) at the Newport News Total Wine as of yesterday. They are up front behind the counter.
