It sounds more like a dumb oversight to me, considering sales are allowed except for one specific size. 2 thoughts: 1) the amount of growler sales at breweries is such a small fraction of a percent of total wholesale beer sales that it wouldn't make any difference, and 2) how many people at a brewery who intend to buy a growler change their mind because the 64oz option isn't available? I'm guessing a very small percent. Also, only a small percent of people actually go to breweries in the first place. So, the impact of this exceedingly stupid law is such an astonishingly small percent that it serves to benefit none while greatly inconvenience some.

If that's the case then why are the big boys using their Lobbyists to fight it?

To protect the status quo? They can't now outlaw sales at breweries so they're trying to maintain any ground they still have - once they give it up they won't get it back. Do you really think the number of sales through the 3 tier system directly caused by not being able to buy 64oz growlers (while 32oz and 128oz growlers are fair game) is that significant that it has any meaningful impact on their bottom-line or, as they say, "protection of the 3 tier system?"

Curious, can you buy bottles/cans/etc. or only growlers?

You can buy anything except a 64oz. growler (cans, bottles, kegs, etc...). The brewery could legally fill your car's gas tank with beer if you wanted them to. Just no 64oz growler. It's stupid as hell.

Good to know. If I'm ever in Tampa I'll bring a kiddie pool to CCB and instruct them to fill it with Jai Alai. I'll then soak myself in the parking lot for a number of hours

I've never seen any of CCBs basic lineup (Jai Alai, FL Cracker, Maduro, Invasion, Hotter than Helles...)for more than 8.99 for a sixer. Some of their seasonal offerings may go up a buck or two but that's max. This is in the Orlando and Daytona areas.

Wow that's crazy cheap. Standard on the west coast is $10.49 or $10.99 for JA and High Seas, and $9.99 for the other regulars.

But to OP's original question, your friend is a liar.

Looks like plenty of responses already but I'll say here in Jax it's $11 at the very most for a 6-pack of CCB.
