I went to Kelsen Brewing a couple months back and I got there around around 12 not knowing that they opened at 2. So when I got there I saw a guy walking into the door and he was helping the brewer set up his draft lines. I said sorry for being so early and that I didn't that they weren't open and he was cool and let me in anyway. While I was there I was able to try all 3 beers he had available on the draft line and as an added bonus I was given a sample of their new porter right out of the bright (sp?) tank before it was even released to the public.

Solid brews and a fantastic experience overall.

Possibly? But I would say your sentiment is a bit jumbled by your wording.

Me and my dad showed up at Wisconsin Brewing company to pick up a shirt and some other things for a gift on a day the tasting room and gift shop happened to be closed. My dad had gone to high school with the brewmaster there, and have run into eachother on a couple of occasions. My dad ended up wandering through the closed tasting room, poked his head into the brewery, and saw Kirby, the brewmaster, and he ended up giving us a private tour, I got to take a sample of their saison right out of the tank before it was released, and had a great conversation about his new business.

four years ago my wife and i were visiting chicago and we went to half acre on a day they were closed. the guys felt so bad that they could neither host us nor give us a tour - they were cleaning - that they sent us off with a four pack of daisy cutter for free.

unfortunately i have not been able to repay their generosity through devoted consumption of their products as they don't yet sell where i live :slight_frown:

I visited Big Bend Brewery last year on a day they weren't supposed to be open for tours. I knocked anyway, and was let inside. They proceeded to show me and my parents and brother their entire (one-room) operation, with free samples of 5 beers (separate sample for each person, to boot). Every member of the staff was extremely eager to talk with us, or at least say hi. We bought tons of Big Bend swag that day, but I'm sure it doesn't even match the value of the beer they gave us. Truckloads of beer karma to them!

Mr. Dan Hitchcock at Rushing Duck did not murder the ex president of my homebrew club when he became impatient (Dan was busy doing work in the kegging area of the facility) and started the brewery tour himself, completely without permission. If you knew the arrogant, thoughtless, imperious asshole whose name will not be spoken who was our ex president you would know just how generous not murdering him was. Since then I have come to find everyone at Rushing Duck are extremely generous folks in all the "normal" ways to think about it.

Agree 100% with this one. Never met Shane but certainly experienced his generosity as well

I was brewery hopping around St. Louis one night with my wife and my brother and his wife (who were visiting from Washington) and the end of our night found us at 4 Hands about an hour before they closed. As we sat and enjoyed our beers, I realized that I had left my drivers license at Civil Life. I took a solo trip back there to get it and upon returning to 4 Hands, I discovered that there were tasting glasses sitting on our table filled with Volume 1 straight off the Brite Tank. This was nearly a solid week before the beer was to be released!

I know brewery trips are part of the Craft Manager perks, but I have never been treated better by any other company than Rogue. All expenses paid trip to Oregon for a week, hit all the Rogue Pubs in Portland, Hop farm tour in Independence, barley farm in the Tygh Valley, brewery in Newport, wale watching tours, more SWAG than I know what to do with, and there was never a point where we did not have a beer in hand. Rogue really pulls out all the stops for their distributors.

My wife, sister, brother in law and I ran the Dogfish Head Dash in 2012. After the race we get back to car to find out the battery is dead. As we're waiting for AAA, we see a lady walking towards the car parked next to us which is decked out in Allagash decals. We jokingly ask if she had any beer, she smiled and said of course. I think her name was Suzie and she worked in some sort of capacity with the brewery, she couldn't have been nicer. She handed us a few bottles, including Curiex, and wished us luck.

We got together a few weeks later, shared the bottles, and toasted to Suzie and Allagash as we laughed about the car mishaps.

I had a bottle of Stone Enjoy By earlier this year. I bought it from the store, brought it home, and put it on a shelf in my storage room where I keep all of my beer. I woke up the next morning, and the bottle had exploded from the bottom. The cap was still intact and everything, really weird. I emailed the brewery and asked them if they new what the cause might have been. They explained that the bottle probably got a crack in it somewhere between the brewery and my storage room, but that there was no way to be sure. They also asked for my address, so they could send me some swag. A couple weeks later I got a box from Stone. Not expecting much, I opened it and found an etched pint glass, a hat, and bag with the brewery's logo on it. I was like a little kid on Christmas!!
