I follow Genesee brewery on facebook and one of their recent status made it seem like Genny bock is going to be made year round. https://www.facebook.com/geneseebrewery well I don't know how to hyperlink it. I am very excited for this news. I wasn't even excited about dirtwolf (its a DIPA, we have enough of those). Genny Bock is far none the best "cheap beer" Who is happy about this?
Not sure that very vague statement on their Facebook page implies that Bock will go year-round. Seems to be it's just a teaser for a later announcement this month of the normal seasonal release of Genesee Bock - which has been in January for decades. (Damn, just reading the nonsense in those 120 [so far] "replies" on that page reenforces my reluctance to visit breweries' Facebook pages. )
https://www.facebook.com/geneseebrewery/posts/655808144457309 Absolutely nothing about that post implies a year round release. Genny Bock is a highly anticipated seasonal beer with a January release date and a goat on the can. The announcement will just be news about next year's batch. Nothing to see here, folks. I could not disagree more. Shiner Bock is over TWICE the price, and frankly, I enjoy Genny far more. Maybe it's because I already knew how much I liked it when I moved to Texas and finally tried Shiner for the first time, but all I could think was "how is this worth $8 for a six pack?" Oh, and OP: if you're interested, you just click on the little "posted X hours ago" text underneath the name of the poster and it takes you to a page that just displays that status update. Took a little trial and error to figure that out myself.
Really? That makes even less sense. I got in but, checking back now, I see this computer was still "signed into" Facebook on someone else's account. But that's not true, apparently, for every Facebook page? I signed this computer out but can see view a number of brewers' Facebook pages, like Anchor's https://www.facebook.com/anchorbrewing
Yeah, it's all in how they've set up their Facebook account. The breweries (and other places -- like my own company) who have a public (?) page want everyone to be able to see their info, not just Facebook members. Of course, if you aren't signed into Facebook, you can't add to the string of idiotic replies either!
I agree- they make some pretty tasty brews in the little brewhouse on premises. And the Dundee stuff does taste best straight from the source, as fresh as possible. Did you ever try the brewhouse oak-aged Black IPA? Seriously mind-blowingly good.
So as expected, the OP read waaaaaaaay too much into this and the announcement was just a release date. edit: apparently someone else decided to check this at the same time as me. Derp.
