It's too bad that those huge tanks designed to look like beer cans will have to be demolished- they're a really cool site to drive by.

Genesee has been awesome lately, the new Brew House there is cranking out some of the best beer in the Rochester area. Dean Jones, the brewmaster there, is incredibly talented.

I hope in the long run this means increased distribution of their Cream Ale. I miss easy access to it when I lived in North Carolina. Out west I can only find 6 packs of Genny Cream in Colorado (and not even that in Wyoming). Would love to see those bargain 30 packs out this way!

I had their Scotch Ale and Black IPA recently, I was quite impressed, they were very good!

If you have a regular store, ask the folks there if one of their distributors carries it. Regular Genny and Cream Ale started showing up out here a few years ago, so it might be available for you.

$9.99 30-packs of Genny all through college. I shudder to think how much we went through. Glad to see our money is going to good use.

Didn't know they made "crafty" beers. I always lumped them in with the Milwaukees Best crowd. Good for them!

$10.00 30's.. I remember being happy when they were 20 bucks out the door! Now it's pushing 30 bucks.. And this was only 5 years ago. I'm getting old

Ordered their salted caramel chocolate porter, a buddy of mine suggested and swears by this beer. I hope we get it! I'm looking forward to trying some of the brew house selections.

Good for them, indeed. It sounds like it will be a good move for the area as well.

Hailing from upstate myself, I can't wait for a bourbon barrel aged or soured cream ale!

I was always under the impression that Genesee Cream was the worst of the worst... but I'll have to give them an actual shot now.

I have a friend that shared a homebrew sour cream ale with me that he received as an extra in a trade- it was putrid, one of the absolute worst things I've put in my mouth.

Yeah, a style that's supposed to be smooth and sweet doesn't seem like a good candidate to be soured. Glad you survived!

They started a year or so ago. They've started bottling craft now too. Black IPA, Scotch Ale, & Salted Caramel Chocolate Porter. They have a great winter warmer, and blonde ale too.

The things they have already done (Brew House, Pilot Batches, etc.) are great. Can't wait for this work to be completed. Nice walk right across the bridge to Frontier Field as well, home of the AAA Baseball, Rochester Red Wings.

:astonished: Most would say Genesee got "craft-y" in 1992, when they released Michael Shea's Irish Amber, followed by M.S. Black & Tan and then, in 1994, J.W. Dundee's Honey Brown Lager.

Are those beers being released under the Dundee labels or as Genesee?
