Is the 2014 not over here yet?

I've been wanting some Huell Melon and some Mandarina Bavaria, but all I can find is the 2013 stuff.

Trying to find a place that has all the current crop in stock, and not finding it... ?

Any idea when those do hit around the states?

My rule of thumb is that domestic pellet hops generally become available to homebrewers in January of the following year; in other words right now for domestic hops.

I would guess imported hops would be a couple of months from now?

    Cheers!

Yeah.. I know the NZ stuff is always opposite on it, so we've got our new domestic crop, and we've got the NZ 2014 crops available..

I have a mega want for some mandarina bavaria and not sure if I want last years crop..

Not. Good hop year in Europe. Cold and wet for half the season, followed by hot and dry.

I was told by one supplier that the German hops would be available in February.

Thanks for the info. I might hold off my orders and see if I can get some. Stocking up on less and less this year, since I still have 2013 unopened in my freezer, and some 2012 I'm going to toss. or mash hop with.

I was just on farmhouse and they had some Mandarina (2013). What are your experiences with this hop? Was thinking of trying it out.

I haven't brewed with it, but I've had some local beers with it and I love it. It's light and citrusy, not too overpowering. VERY orange-y and light grapefruit flesh flavor. Works well in light lagers, to IPA's.

I might have to get some 2013 if the newest harvest is gonna take a while to show up stateside.

I used it in a 1.040 American pale ale. It reminds me of cascade making love to hallertauer with a bit of orange zest. Gonna use it in a wit soon.

Love that description, based on that alone, I am going to need to find those hops. Cheers

I have it in a 1.052 APA, and it is one the wife and I like.

Would be great in an American Wheat.
