Didn't taste too acrid for me. Probably a case of differing palates (or beer age?)?

    Cheers!

I'm not trying to say that it was very strong at all. Just that to me it's one of those American versions that are leaning more closely to a Porter.

I like the beer a lot but it just is a bit too strong on the roastiness for my understanding of a Schwarzbier. I've had the beer many times from many places over different batches.

Similarly there is the Franconia Dunkel. I don't know if I like that beer or not. It's labeled a Dunkel so my expectations are set wanting a Munich Dunkel. Every time I've had it I thought it tasted more like a stout though.
If it was labeled as a Schwarzbier though I may think it's just a roasty American attempt at a Schwarzbier and give it more leeway and appreciate it.

Thus far? yeah, right; that implies there will more be more books on the series

If GRR Martin ever gets them done. He is famously struggling with "The Winds of Winter", and "A Dream of Spring" is the last of the series.

Yeah, the book he's been (sporadically) working on since 2010 and originally had a summer 2015 release date.

He has too many distractions. The theatre and Meow Wolf are two examples.

Nah, that just meant I haven’t finished reading A Dance With Dragons yet.

Unfortunately I pretty much fully expect George to die before TWOW is released.

The books are great, but honestly I never would have started the series if I had known it would probably never be finished.

I hear you. It’s always a gamble though when it comes to the epic fantasy genre. For instance, Robert Jordan wasn’t anywhere near finished with the “Wheel of Time” series before he died, luckily he left enough content and detailed notes for Sanderson to finish up the series after he passed. I expect a similar situation to happen with ASOIAF. Regardless it isn’t looking good, obviously.
