Kros Strain Dunkel Breakin' My Heart Munich Dunkel, 5% ABV. Pours black with a four-finger light-brown head that left commensurate lacing. Aroma is roast malt. Taste is toasty malt, slightly sweet, moderately bitter. Decent mouthfeel, overall excellent. 4.02/5 rDev +1.5% look: 4.25 | smell: 4 | taste: 4 | feel: 4 | overall: 4
Interesting, apparently Reinheitsgebot killed it because it was brewed with honey, molasses, and oats.
I haven't studied the history of the recipe, but it's a good guess that The Duke did kill the brewing of the style within Germany. I suppose it's possible that it is still brewed, but 100% exported if that's permissible.
