Ok, so I posted a thread to get recommendations on where to stop on my trip to TN from CT. I had planned on stopping at the Vintage Cellar, but we came through there around 11am on last Sunday and they were not open. So now I am planning on hitting it tomorrow on the way home, the only problem is that I will be short on time. Does anyone have any recommendations on what local or regional beers i should grab? Or what seasonal releases might be available? I prefer anything hoppy (ipa, 2xipa, black ipa, apa, etc), stouts, porters, and sours.

I know this is a tad vague, but I am really just looking for suggestions on what is worth picking up that might not always be available or might be really local. I looked at seekabrew to see what the unique breweries are, most of which i have familiarity with (i.e., avery, 21st amendment, bells, bear republic, etc.) Just trying to minimize the time spent looking up beers on here while in the store.

Also, does Vintage Cellar keep anything in the back that I should be asking for? Or will it all be on the shelves.

    Thanks in advance.

Off the top of my head:

    Alewerks Bitter Valentine
3 Brothers Drift (I truly think this will be an ISO: when people catch on)
    Foothills Seeing Double IPA
    Parkway Brewing Get Bent IPA

Check for their Perennial Offerings. They also get Caldera which I'm not sure if you get your way. Terrapin is distributed there as well as Hoppin' Frog etc.

I'm not aware that they keep anything in the back, if you find out let me know :stuck_out_tongue:

I've never been to the Vintage Cellar, so not sure of their selection, but here some good VA brews to keep your eyes open for....

Three Brothers is killing it right now. Look out for any of their limited releases - Resolute (BB Stout), Rum Barrel Dubbel and/or Atramentous (Resolute Barrel Belgian Sour Stout).

Alewerks - Bitter Valentine (Double IPA), Jubilee (BB Strong Ale), Bourbon Barrel Porter

Blue Mountain - Dark Hollow (BB Stout), Local Species (Belgian Strong Pale Ale)

Devil's Backbone - East West (India Pale Lager - Collaboration with Green Flash), Swartz Bier (German Black Lager)

    Champion - Missile IPA

Starr Hill - Whiter Shade of Pale (won Gold at 2014 WBC for Belgian IPA) and King of Hop (new Imperial IPA)
