My brother is doing his culinary externship at the Biltmore Resort in Asheville. Luckily for me, he is willing to ship me great beer on a regular basis. What breweries/beers would you recommend me trying to obtain? Thanks!!

There are a literal shit-ton of threads about Asheville beers and breweries. I suggest searching this forum for them.

Agree with the post above that Asheville threads pop up pretty frequently. A suggestion- you might have your brother check into buying stuff at the Bruisin' Ales shop and have them do the shipping. It might be a bit more costly than packing/shipping himself, but if he's not an experienced beer shipper, the peace-of-mind factor with safe packaging (and the "against UPS/FedEx rules" thing) might be worth it.

As for local breweries, I would focus on Green Man, a few Highland beers, Olde Hickory, and well anything else. Asheville Brewing Blonde in a can is a decent blonde, tell him to grab Olde Hickory Octoberfest bottles (best NC Octoberfest), Anything freaking Green Man, Pisgah Valdez, Highland Black Mocha/Gaelic/Thunderstruck Coffee Porter, and anything he sees from Foothills. all will be worth it.

If he sees like Natty Greene's Freedom IPA, Triangle White/Golden/IPA, or Mother Earth Sunny Haze have him get those too. any other questions, feel free to BM me!
