I have recently taken on the challenge of turning all of my collected bottles into label magnets for the fridge. My favorite labels by far, are Jester King fruits - I have been soaking using oxyclean and hot water with great success for all other bottles, except these. I have heard about baking the bottle in the oven for a while. Maybe this will infiltrate that top layer? I'd love to hear some success stories on getting these suckers off with no damage and/or ideas! Cheers!

I've used the oxyclean and hot water method on these and the labels slid off themselves and were still sticky enough after drying that I stuck them on card stock.

I have no experience with this brewery's bottles/labels, but if the labels are a vinyl-like material, then the best way that I've found to remove this kind is to put one bottle at a time into the microwave for 30-45 seconds (some bottles have taken up to 3 minutes, but start low on the time that you allow), and then slowly peel the label from a corner. You'll need to use a potholder/towel to hold the bottle while you're trying to get that label off, but get a corner started and then pull slowly. Warning: You easily can develop a burn blister on the tip of your finger if you touch that glass too much if you use your fingernail to peel that corner back. Be ready to stick the label to a piece of paper (or your sheet magnet) because some of the glue will come off with the label. Good luck. (Wearing safety glasses is probably advisable too.)

Once you have removed your label, if it does have residual glue on the back you could also stick it to greaseproof / baking parchment /paper and trim round the shape of the label. The label will then look more like an unused label taken from the original roll at the bottling plant. Alternatively, you could sprinkle talcum/baby powder onto the back of the label and this will nullify the stickiness of residual glue. I don't recommend using white spirit as this can also effect the label itself if it is printed on vinyl-like paper and can also take the printed image off the surface - as I have sadly discovered.

Rather than using a finger nail, I use one of the blades you find in an adjustable utility knife to tease the label away from the bottle, such as shown here..........

i just soak JK bottles overnight in a little dish (just warm water, no soap, etc), the labels come off easier than most and once dry the adhesive actually still works on the label.
