Getting Lawson's

Was in VT all of last week. The Warren Store gets their supply on Thursday mornings. I was at HF last Thursday when they opened at noon and was told the Warren Store was already sold out. Your best bet is to follow Winooski Beverage on Facebook and stop by Fridays when they get their delivery, my girlfriend and I got lucky and snagged some Double Sunshine. The co-op in Montpelier also posts on facebook when they get their shipment on Fridays. Plus both stores have a ton of other beers to buy. I found Hill Farmstead at the Montpelier store.

I also went to a few different bars, Blackback had Double Sunshine on tap which was amazing, and Prohibition Pig had Maple Nipple.

 

The only way to get Lawsons in bottles are:

1) Be at the bottle shop(s) when the deliveries arrive (or within an hour or so)
2) Go to the Farmers' Market when Lawsons is there

Does anyone know what time on Thursday the Warren Store gets its delivery? How long a wait if you get there at 8? TIA

 

Delivery is around 10:00am. I have gotten Lawson's there several times and there is absolutely no need to get there at 8. I have always tried to get there before noon and never had a problem.

 

On tap is the best way, period. You're more likely to find it on tap than you will a bottle.
Double Sunshine doesn't last long...2-3 days tops. It's been easy to find them in Waterbury.

Disagree. If he is putting out Double Sunshine, which he posts on his blog ahead of time, you will get it at Warren Store if you show up before noon.

 

Just to clarify, OP is going on Saturday.

 

Sean has updated his blog to indicate that Double Sunshine will be available next week, 1/16 at Warren Store. Best time to get it other than the market on 2/8.

Don't show up at 8. That's waaay too early, and you'll come off as a tool. If you really are going to be early, order some food, it's quite good.

 

last time I was there i showed up at 8:30. went inside got an egg sandwich and a coffee and read the paper and talked with the locals and before i knew it the delivery got there.

 

Got to disagree with (almost) everyone here. If you're interested specifically in Lawson's and a trip to VT is going to be a big deal, and you are not locked-in to one specific weekend, then go to a farmers market or you're a fool. Example- Feb 8th, Montpelier. Six different Lawson's beers, limit 24 bottles per person total. Get there early and you're pretty much guaranteed to get what you want.
The regular store deliveries or bar draft offerings can't compare.
Empty your bank account and find as many mules as you can.

Even if you end up with a higher number ticket, there is usually Double Sunshine and some barrel aged offerings available later in the day.
