Hello Texas BAs. My girlfriend will be visiting Texas towards the end of the month. She'll be in Dallas briefly and in Lubbock for about a week. I'm mostly interested in acquiring some Jester King and Ballast Point, but not knowing much about them I have a few questions:
    1. Is it possible to find it in those areas (especially Jester King), and if so, what stores? (I checked out the visiting Dallas thread and noted those places)
    2. What JK and BP beers are likely to be found on the shelves?
    3. Cost of JK beers?

    Thanks!

    1. Jester King and Ballast Point should be available at most stores in Dallas with a decent beer selection (Spec's, Whole Foods, etc.). I don't believe either of them are available in Lubbock.
    2. Probably just the year-round Jester King beers (http://jesterkingbrewery.com/beers/) but maybe Das Wunderkind, El Cedro, and Censored (Salt Lick). For Balllast Point, maybe Sculpin, Victory at Sea, Sea Monster, Dorado, Big Eye, and Black Marlin. It depends on the store.
    3. Between $12 and $18.

Dallas is a very big area, if you let us know where she will be staying that would help alot.

Lubbock....well it is Lubbock. You will have a much more limited selection. As far as JK, I have never seen it in Lubbock. BP, I cannot say for sure but I almost want to say it is more likely.

For beer selection, your best bet is Spec's or Doc's in Lubbock. Spec's being the better choice. She can easily stop by there and you may be surprised what they have that just has not sold in Lubbock as quickly.

Lubbock does have one production brewery (Wicked Beaver). Nothing has stood out from them that is really worth bringing back....but it is available.
