Is there any truth to this? heard it through the grapevine and am pretty damned excited if it's true.

I can verify that it's true...or at least definitely in the works. There's at least one more (non-rare) bottle on the way soon, too.

Excellent! I've been wanting to try it, but living in castle rock means a long drive home after a couple of brews. :slight_frown: too risky.

Apparently this is already showing up on some retail shelves...I guess Erik and his team move quickly.
ESB should be next, and that's the one I've been wanting forever. I saw the labels for it and Ghoul Fuel a few weeks ago.

I got to try the Man Beer for my first time while at Falling Rock a few weeks back, and really liked it. That beer definitely left the impression on me of being a bit of a English IPA/ESB hybrid, though. I know the English IPA's do more with malt than the Americans, but the malt bill in Man Beer really reminded me a lot of what I have come to expect from ESB's; more depth to it than I have found in the few English IPA's I had tried prior. Point being, seems like their ESB could be a little repetitive? Or did I just have a off tasting night and Man Beer is actually nothing like I thought it was?

They're a certainly a little similar. I'd assume some of that comes from their English roots where styles aren't always defined as clearly as we tend to do.
To me, Man Beer has a "marmalade and earth" hop note that I associate with English IPA's, but you're right that it has a pretty robust malt bill. Still, the hops are more of the focal point. The ESB's hop flavors are dialed way back by comparison. They're really only to keep the sweetness down and add a little bitterness in the finish. The malt bill is less caramel and bread and more toasty and coffee-cake like. Not sure if you've ever had Dry Dock's Amber (aka. HMS Victory ESB), but it's probably the closest thing to the B&B ESB around here.

Yes, I have had that Dry Dock Amber. Didn't dislike it, but also not its biggest fan, so not a comparison that will necessarily have me jumping out the door to try this one. While I do enjoy a some ESB's, I gather I tend to prefer the more 'Americanized' ones like the Crazy Mountain Horseshoes and Hand Grenades or Left Hand's Sawtooth.

The B&B one definitely has an American slant to it. Based on memory it's over 6% ABV, so it's definitely not that authentic English.
Since their bottles are singles and imperial pint sized, I'd just suggest buying a bottle and seeing what you think. Unless it has recently changed, that's actually the single most awarded beer in all of Colorado.

Yeah, that is a good point. Re: Being able to buy a single bottle of it.

And I had no idea it had was such an awarded beer. I get that these awards can often be undeserved (ahem, Crabtree's Oatmeal Stout), but I would imagine that for an beer to consistently win awards, it must have something going right for it. I will give it a shot for sure if/when I see it on the shelves (or, ideally, on tap).

We've got it in, too. The big place at Holly & County Line. I've bought so much crazy beer lately, that I'm putting that one off until next week. Killer bottle art. I think we've still got a good amount of it.

The shits good, I like the fact that you can still taste the malts used over the spices. For sure one of my favorite fall beers now.

It really is a good one. I've grown tired of most pumpkin beers after looking forward to this season for years. To me there are only maybe 4-5 worth seeking out (Shlafly, Pumking, Oak Jack'd, Upslope, Ghoul Fuel) and this is one of them. I had an Upslope Pumpkin last night and I think the Ghoul Fuel beats that one hands down.
Pumking and Shlafly are still the best IMO, though. Too bad we don't get either of them out here.

Doesn't Pumking at least make it here on tap? I could have sworn that was the first pumpkin beer i ever tried and did so at Falling Rock.

Back to the topic at hand, I guess if the mood does strike for a pumpkin beer this year I will make Ghoul Fuel be my selection.
