Well, I think most people are probably just excited that they're doing a new type of BCBS, period. I don't care if it's bottled or not, I just care that they release it, so that I can drink it.

Good information, and sorry to be pedantic however if they aged a bourbon in maple barrels, it is now a Whiskey and no longer a Bourbon

If it was a bourbon before it went into the maple barrels, it's still a bourbon when it comes out. Angel's Envy is a good example. A bourbon rested in port barrels is still a bourbon.

I thought bourbon had to be aged in new, charred barrels to be considered bourbon? Does that mean that occurs and then it gets transferred to the maple barrels?

Shudder. Their whiskey is horrible (granted, I don't like "young" whiskey, but it was undrinkable IMO).

Exactly. There are a ton of rules one must abide by to make bourbon. But, once it's bourbon, it's going to remain bourbon unless you do something to drastically alter it. Like say, dilute to under 80 proof or something. You can "finish" a bourbon in another barrel and it remains a bourbon. Angel's Envy as I mentioned does it, as does Woodford, Big Bottom, and a bunch of others. Finishing in a maple cask would still allow it to be called bourbon.

New Holland does it as well, with their Beer Barrel Bourbon.
