I bought 1 bottle of BCBS this past release. None last years. I decided the time and energy spent getting this beer wasnt worth it after 2013. I have already changed my habits.

I usually only am able to get 1-2 bottles of regular. Very few cases of variants make it to KC because we buy Tank 7 (and also Saison-Brett when it's released) instead of Sofie. And that's not a knock on Sofie, but even people who don't drink craft around here love Tank 7.

I can always get one at my regular store, because they get a decent amount and while I don't spend as much as some people, they know I'm there every week or two. I lucked into the other one on Christmas Eve at the grocery store. Luckily I followed my personal rule and took a gander at the beer coolers - I saw two bottles, took one and wished Merry Christmas to one other lucky soul on the local beer board.

A couple months ago, my local store decided to raid their basement and I got a bottle of 2013 BCBS regular. Nice find (and great timing on my part)

Anyway, at this point I work on Black Friday so I will likely hit the regular store at lunchtime but otherwise won't make special trips. I don't have the needed connections to pull any variants so it will take some luck.

Bourbon County is an undeniably great bourbon barrel aged stout, but not the best, and certainly not the only example of the style. I usually see it on tap around me following Black Friday, and it usually stays long enough that I don't have to stand in line for it. If I lived in an area where I had to wait in line for it, I probably wouldn't buy it at all, good as it is; there are BBA stouts that are as good or better that I could buy off the shelf when they're in season.

I will likely continue to hunt down every bottle I can find, but with the express purpose of burning them all to eradicate said infection.

It does take some work getting the regular here in my central MN home. The local liquor store got very little, and it was long gone when I got done with work release day. The only reason I got a bottle was thanks to a tip from a fellow BA, nd it wasn't too far away. To get a large amount I'd have to hunt the Twin Cities metro. The variants never made it here.

BCBS is in real short supply here so I was amazed when I stumbled across three bottles three days after Black Friday, just waiting for me in a small-town grocery. I have identified two places to find a few more bottles this year, and will get all I can, but I don't think we get the variants here.

here in Detroit, I found 18+ bottles on black Friday alone. And this past week the distributors must have dropped shipped more product because I have found another 9 bottles sitting on shelves between four other stores in the past week. Very limited variants here as I only scored a bottle of Rare besides the regular BCBS.

Considering I just picked up a growler of regular BCBS yesterday, I'm going to say that my 2016 purchasing habit has not changed.

Not much effort in acquiring BCBS in so Cal as some stores still have it sitting on shelves but they require purchasing a six-pack of another GI beer. That's probably why they still have an inventory of BCBS. I noticed in 2014 when it was sold as four-packs from $24-32 it flew off shelves but it could be that it was the first time it was available in so Cal.

I won't be trying as hard next year, but only because it's still on the shelf several places now in DC, and not always even at outrageous prices.

I wasn't going to bother getting any BCBS 2015. Xmas time, I was spending a gift certificate at a beer store and when I went to the register to check out, they had BCBS sitting there. I decided to buy it and it tasted good as hell. I'm not going out of my way to get any, but if I stumble across some and the price point is reasonable, Ill grab a bottle or two.

I have never chased variants, and only bought a couple bottles of 2015 regular.

I'm willing to buy things if I get a chance, but I'm not a fan of chasing or waiting in line, and I don't trade. So that's about that.

After 2013 I don't do releases anymore. I've still managed to get bottles every year.

Dang its only April and we're already talking about this?

I asked about the variants in a couple of shops, but they didn't have any. I wasn't actively seeking them out, so it was no big deal. I didn't wait in line for any of the BCBS that I managed to get, and I don't plan on waiting in line for any next time.

I got 3 cases of BCBS and 1 case of BCBBW last year. I had 2 BW right away and thought it was great, but revisited once the issues came to light and it had turned nasty. I've probably drank about half of my regulars, and I'll look to score about the same next year, I love the BW so I'm hoping they get it right, I'll buy it again.

Saw $29 coffee and $45 regal, did not buy either this year. I can't say if I would have bought Rare if I had seen it, maybe maybe not. Kind of glad I didn't see it in some ways.

I won't say, "by any means necessary" but I'll do the same as I have been the past few years. Do my best to get hold of some, and if I do, great, if not, well, it's not the end of the world.
I've been able to get the regular stout almost every year for the 5 or so, and I have a few variants. A couple barleywines from a couple years ago, a backyard, a couple coffees from here and there.
I just opened the 2015 boarleywine I got, and it's perfectly fine - no issues at all.

I've never lined up, but I always come across the regular. Never really chased the variants although I did end up with a barleywine variant that I drank at Christmas and it was amazing. (Lucky SOB, I know.)

I'll probably do the same this year.

I didn't go too far out of my way to get one of each variant and wound up with 2 Rare and a 6 pack of regular BCBS. not much to complain about. coffee wasn't amazing and neither was the barley wine. Regal was tasty and so was Rare. Beer is an imperfect system and I'm sure they intend on making up for the shortcomings last year.
