It is still there. He is wanting to know exactly where the event is being hosted. And that info is not up yet. Might not even happen until the week of.

What site are you looking at? It used to show Seattle as Sep 2-5 but it wasn't a link since location wasn't determined. Right now there's no mention of Seattle at all.

[EDIT: Nevermind. The "migration" page shows Seattle. The "chase" page doesn't.]

The Omaha Migration was spread out amongst multiple bars and bottle shops. I'm guessing it will be the same way in Seattle.

Fuuuuuck me! I've got a big interview all day in Longview all day Thursday, so it's about the only day all Summer that I'm absolutely booked for. And of course i live in Portland, where there are no good beer events, ever.

Ok, enough of my spoiled whining. I'm surprised by their choice of venues. Other than BS, they seem to be skipping over all the usual suspects. That's not to complain-I'm always happy to have an excuse to check out new places, but i am a bit surprised.

snap, thanks for that. looks like Row Cafe is a sure "must" go. I'm wondering what belmont will have. super stoked for this. hope it isn't super expensive though.

Man. Wish I could make the Tap Takeover at Belmont Station on Wednesday, but I'll definitely be hitting both on Thursday!

Are there going to be bottles kicking around anywhere? Anyone know? Maybe had experience with this?

Is anyone going tonight? I'm curious to try "The Ogden", and the only other chance is at NWIPA, at which point I plan to have already consumed multiple KH and Vanilla pours.

As a non Portlander, what's Produce Row like? It seems they must've done some unspeakable things to garner both KH and Vanilla.

    It's just... some restaurant...

I mean, they have decent food and usually a solid tap list. I've been there a few times, but I have no idea how they ended up with this event.

Clutching at straws here, but Produce Row does have a section on their menu for "Beer and Whiskey Pairs." Maybe that's part of the answer? I mean, are they particularly well known for that?

To be fair, they're more than "just some restaurant." They may have lost their edge a little bit over the years, but it was the McMenamin brothers first enterprise (they opened it 40 years ago) before they started building their empire, and has been a "beer bar" for almost as long as the Horse Brass.

Not to get all "old man-ish" on ya'll, but if there were "Visiting Portland" threads on BA 10-15 years ago, Pro Row most likely would have been near the top of the list of bars to hit, alongside the Brass, Moon & Sixpence, Rose & Raindrop, and Higgins.

All of that said, as for why they got those two beers, I suspect it was simply luck of the draw. The brewery sent 1-2 kegs (or cases) of all sorts of stuff out here, and their local reps apparently just sort of divvied it all up, presumably to encourage people to hit multiple events.

On another note, "our keg" of Coffee apparently ended up going somewhere else, so unless the distributor can find us another one we won't be pouring that. Everything else on the event list is accurate though.

Edit: One other possibility is that perhaps they were the first to agree to it. Let's face it, any event featuring BCBS and variants is going to be a shit show, so I wouldn't be surprised if some places turned it down for being more trouble than it was worth...
