Was in Hy-Vee wine and spirits today and passed up on it partially because of the AB-Inbev ownership. Did I make a mistake? Should I go pick some up? Heard manager say he got 6 cases and this was out of only 12 that have been shipped to the state. Iowa Did pick up a bowler of Double Bastard, 6er of Bell's Best Brown, and a 4 of Schafley Christmas. So I'm not hurting, just hoping I didn't miss out on sumptin good.... Hy-Vee Wine and Spirts on Kimball in W'loo if your wanting....
It's not that rare. I've seen 09's still. Decent but doesn't stand out of the pack of other Xmas ales.
How is the Schlafly ? I liked the GI Christmas in the lager format bottle. All in all it is a solid beer tho.
I picked some up yesterday for $6.99 in Hanover of all places. Had one and I thought it was pretty good. Little different for a brown ale because to me it had an orange flavor.
i used to love this stuff, one of my faves during the x-mas season, and it was priced the same as there regular lineup. then they put in bombers with a higher price point, and now it's in four packs for about 10-12 bucks. i haven't had it in quite a few years because of this.
