What's the deal with this beer? Was it fully distributed? Are there certain batches that were infected only? I'm doing a vert and would like to get a bottle. Total crap shoot on infection and are they easy to land? Justin
Every year all Proprietor's (Prop) is released in the Chicago area and only in the Chicago area. By this nature, Prop will be a smaller batch of brewed beer compared to the other variants. With the exception of the main Binny's store in Chicago which releases 1,000 - 2,000 bottles of Prop each year, it has seemed that most other stores receive no more then 3-5 cases of Prop at the most. http://www.chicagobusiness.com/arti...60719858/goose-island-recalls-two-more-stouts Second point of reference: http://www.chicagotribune.com/dinin...re-bourbon-county-refunds-20160715-story.html
So as long as the 15 prop is not Sept 18 should be good? I just never see any being offered for trade or anyone looking. Were there multiple bottle dates for prop 15? Thanks
No prop 15 was infected! Don't trade for it it's a waste of time and beer and even before the infection it was too sweet
They were ALL infected. Some bottles took longer to show infection that others, but they all were. No such thing as an uninfected Prop '15 bottle right now. The only way to try uninfected Prop '15 is lucking into a keg tapping...which is virtually impossible. That said, if you are going to do a vert, you should get one just for the heck of it Just be sure to drink it last
@JakeJohnson shared a bottle with me the other day. It was tremendously infected - surprisingly, it was still one of the best beers I had that evening. It tasted like a rich red wine - similar to a merlot, but profoundly sour. That being said - you may not want to chase this one down.
