Wondering what people have been trading to get it or trading to let it go recently.
    Thank you.

Right now, a keg of Lost Abbey Deliverance or Stone IRS.

Be careful, anyone who's in a salty mood might pounce on this for "you trying to get the max value" out of something. Because, well, that's what people tend to do around here when they're feeling salty.

But to be helpful, as baycat alluded to, it's been trading for a lot; both volume and rarity. I think I gave up 5 one-offs (mostly brewery-only or really limited) for the one I scored several months ago. From what else I've seen, that tends to be the case—multiple one-offs, mostly barrel-aged stuff, can get you in the ballpark. If you're willing to go fishing for it, toss up a few bottle ideas on an ISO/FT, include a cellar link, say you're open to negotiations (if you are). But with it being one of the hotter beers out there, it probably won't come cheap. You just gotta know what you're willing to give up to get it. That's about the best advice I can give ya.

And I'm on the side of FT in this one.
Just not sure what I'd be ISO and I am not trying to start an auction.
    So I just wondered

i know. it's just, another guy got pounced on last week for asking something similar, so I figured I'd give you fair warning.

I'll say this, you probably won't have any problem getting rid of it. Just post what you're looking for and expect a flood of emails.

There are some BA stouts out there that are drinking much better right now and can be acquired for much less – stuff like 1414, Fifteen, CFH 12/13, BA Speedway, etc. Seekers of Rare, which is delicious but past its prime, would be wise to seek out these superior brews instead. Unless you’re ticking and have never tried the brew. Then, by all means, trade away $100+ worth of limited beer in an ebay-like transaction that puts you at about $5 an ounce +!

traded one of mine for BA Abraxas and CW 15 and traded another for BA Kopi +CFH 13 (I added cherry Rye) and sent another one in a monster trade with five other bottles to cheapbeerbuzz and he sent me a 12 bottle shipper that included BA Kopi +CFH12+GM.

I never weigh in on these Rare threads because I usually have several. But now that my cellar is void of any Rare I feel I can weigh in and heartily disagree. FWIW the only stout I have consumed in the last 6 months anywhere near as good as a properly cellared Rare to me is BA Abraxas. And yes, I have had all if the beers mentioned above except CFH '13. I know taste is subjective, but that's my take.

I sent one out and drank yours last weekend. It's been about a year since the cellar didn't have a Rare, but I'm sure I will rectify that soon.

I've had Rare, CFH 12 and BA Abraxas since January and IMO the Rare was the best of the three.

That was my last Rare. Since then, I've picked up three more of those bad boys.

I recencly did a trade last month for a Rare and gave up a BCBS Vanilla and x3 Beat B5...Needed it ASAP for a tasting...didn't really care what I gave up for it...both parties were happy...

We did Rare, '08 bcbs and CFH'13 blind and that is the order they came in. Also did BA Abraxas, '09 bcbs, KH, Fou Foune, Fantasia etc... Rare and KH stole the show imo.

Long & short- Rare is still spectacular.

Interesting. Maybe we had a Rare that was stored in perfect conditions, but the one we popped open last weekend was - perfect. I thought it was very good when it came out, but no-way-no-how in the top tier of big, barrel-aged stouts. Now? It is. YMMV.
