Would you be willing to send an e-mail to Wyeast requesting that 3726 be a year round yeast?

I sent Wyeast an e-mail with that request ia few years ago and they responded that they would consider making 3726 year round if there were sufficient requests for it. Needless to say I can only request this once but it would be helpful if others make this request as well.

    Cheers!

I also use the aquarium heater technique, and learned that the settings on my heater are 5 degrees shy of what the knob is set at. That being said I use my floating thermometer as a cheap insurance policy and keep the heater set to that. Also, why does everyone say the dupont strain stalls? I have never had an issue with it stalling, and have used it without ramping up. Maybe I should stfu and count myself lucky.

I actually emailed them asking for 3726 to be year-round back in December. Their response:

"Thanks for the suggestion - 3726 is one of our favorites too, so hopefully we can make this happen at some point!"

I would also suggest the Wallonian Farmhouse strain - I brewed with it about 2.5 weeks ago and the sample I took last week was absolutely delicious, and I haven't really babied it at all. Pitched around 65, held it around 68 - 70 for a few days, then took it out of my fermentation fridge to ride at room temp around 72 - 75*. Lots of peppery notes, light tartness, hints of fruit...curious to see how it evolves once it's in the bottle, but I would urge people who don't want to baby 3724 to give the Wallonian strain a shot.

I use the aquarium heater in a plastic storage bin. If you do three fermenters just get a bin big enough to set all three into and them fill with water and throw in the aquarium heater.

I really is low tech and works like a champ.
