Went in 2011 with the wife. But first stopped at the tap of HB Abensberg.....Alfredo Espresso. Had a bottle of the Hofbräu Weiss Blaue. Then on to the fest.... First beer tent was the Kuchlbauer Festzelt. Their beer was just ok....pretty light, not too much flavor to it. Then a stop at the Festzelt Lanzl for Hofbräu Gillamoosbier. It was also ok, a bit darker, with slight bitterness. Next was the Jungbräu Festzelt with their festbier - Pils-Brauerei Scherling?? I need more info on that brewery. Over to Ottenbräu Festzelt next, where I enjoyed the Ottenbräu Gillamoos Festbier. The beer was a bit dark, with an almost a roasted/smokey taste. Pretty good. Last stop of the night was in the biergarten area of the Kuchlbauer Stadl. Had a liter of their wiess. Loved it! I gotta admit that I am a fan of the Kuchlbauer weiss biers....a fairly unique product.
