Melange 3 White Oak, Firestone XIV, XV, Westbrook Gose, Kuhnhenn Fluffer and Loonie Kuhnie all on draught. And the 2 new Maine bottles. I'll be here all night.

I tried White Oak, G'Rauch, Firestone Anniversary XV, and Melange 3. I was expecting more from Firestone, which was still phenomenal.

Seriously though, Melange 3 BLEW MY MIND. Wow, it is seriously one of the best beers I've ever had.

Thanks a ton for the heads up. Wouldn't have known to go there otherwise.

Yea man, no problem. I thought both Firestone's were pretty awesome, but the Melange 3 was amazing. Maybe that kinda took away from the FW's!

they also had XVI on Monday.. I had a flight with the 3 FW's and the Melange, the FW XVI was definitely the best by far. intense parabola characteristics. kinda like a parabola taken to the next level, if thats even possible.
sorry you missed out on that one.. but i didn't get the gose or either kuhnhenn when I was there. you win :slight_frown:

XVI would've been nice too. I had all the others. They wouldn't do flights when I was there, so I had to get full pours....Got a little too drunk for a Wednesday night. Haven't done that in a long time!

What did you think of the XIV?

It was actually my least favorite of the 3. Don't get me wrong, it was incredibly delicious (and all 3 were some of the best beers I've ever had), but it just didn't seem to have as much complexity, body, and intensity as the other two.

I could imagine not liking it because of the sweetness, but I surely thought it was the most complex.

It was like biting into a caramel candy that melts and covers your tongue with dark fruit and sugary goodness. But yeah, all great beers.

What are some must-haves right now? My brother is staying 3 blocks from Ginger Man, and I want to make some recommendations.

Or send him down to One Mile House and have him try 10 of the Peekskill beers including ones mentioned above. Higher Standard (DIPA) is great and can go toe to toe with Cali's finest.

I'd go with one of the 3 IPAs on cask and either Greenport Black Duck Porter or Old Engine Oil.

    * Warning to people looking at the thread, first post was back in June.
