Opened today. Hoping they have some fun local beers on tap. If anyone's been there and can give a beer/pizza report, that would be awesome.
I'm excited to go, but the plan is for my wife and I to go in several months when it dies down just a touch to normal levels. We're not early adopters, at least not with a six month old.
Just moved to the Twin Cities from Chicago. If the new Giordanos is like the Chicago locations, I would not get too excited about good beer selections. They might have a standard Lagunitas on tap, Blue Moon and 312. But maybe the Mpls location will be different.
I'm just looking forward to trying the pizza. And interestingly enough, the only two check ins on Untappd are Lagunitas IPA and 312 Wheat. If they tend to a very basic offering, I'd also expect to see Summit EPA and Surly Furious, since those are pretty much everywhere here.
IMO Pezzo in White Bear has better Chi-town style pizza than any Giordanos location I have stopped at in the Chicago area. Pezzo also has a very nice tap list. More of a Lou Malnati's guy......
I went a few days ago, tap list was summit epa, furious, lagunitas ipa, Sam Adams summer ale and Boston lager, goose island 312 and their summer ale, enki cocoa porter, and mich golden.
Portillos I can get behind. The best Chicago eats include Chicago dogs, Italian Beef and Pizza Puffs, which they do all very well.
Ha! Yep. Let's make all the great ingredients of pizza taste like crappy cheese and sugar. Bam! Gold mine.
