Anyone ever try these Lambic-in-a-box deals from Belgium in a Box? Are they unblended lambics? They've got Girardin and Oud Beersel Lambics and the Oud Beersel bag in a box is on sale. Rather tempted.
I've had both of these that a friend hauled back from Belgium on the plane. They were very different from each other, but quite tasty (and unusual!) and I really enjoyed them both. Mind you this was 3 years ago, so who knows what you'll end up with in the current iterations.
My friend in Germany has some of these. They are unblended and fresh. He is cellaring some to try a blending experiment.
Wait just a minute here. This actually exists? 10 liters of lambic in a box. 338.14 ounces of lambic in a box?! Whoever's idea this was, I want to have their baby. And thanks for the enlightenment. I intend to order one!
Was generously invited to taste both Girardin bagged varieties last week. Both a unique experience to be sure.
Oud Beersel's lambic is pretty sulfuric and rough around the edges out of the bag. Girardin on the other hand is generally really good.
